This "cap" saved my husband from serious injury. My husband has Parkinson's disease and had DBS surgery six years ago. His walker caught on a threshold in our home and he fell. Although he broke his nose in two places and had several facial lacerations, the CT scan showed no further damage even though his head had hit the ceramic floor and the door jamb. I had just placed his helmet on him shortly before his fall. I highly recommend this protective cap for anyone who is concerned about falling. Besides, this cap looks really good on him! No one knows it's a helmet.

I bought this cap to keep me from whacking my head in the confined engine room of my boat and within a few minutes of putting it on, I had saved myself from two bumps that in the past might have drawn blood. Every time I wear this hat in a confined space, I find there are one or two times it bumps up against something and I say to myself that it has paid for itself yet again. I have recommended them to my friends and know a few have bought them too. While it is not as light or comfortable as a regular baseball cap, it is far better than a hard hat or helmet. I have gone out and about several times while wearing the hat and have not realized I still had it on instead of a regular ball cap. That said, it does not offer the same level of ventilation. If my head is getting warm and a bit sweaty while wearing it in our Houston winter, I can imagine it will be unpleasant in the summer heat. That said, having to deal with blood running down your forehead is worse than having to deal with a bit of sweat, so I will gladly endure the lack of ventilation to get the protection. You can tell there is something different about the hat if you look at it closely, but I think it looks fine. It appears to be well constructed with quality materials.

No, it doesn’t comply to anything that I’m aware of, however, I will tell you, that it’s great for general protection when you don’t need a hard hat. When I’m on the job site, I don’t often need a hard hat as it’s rare for someone to be working over head. I haven’t used it yet, but I am always wearing a ball cap, so if I feel like my head is gonna hit something that I’m crouching or crawling near this is great. I’ve also dropped my own hammer on my head a few times. Today I actually was wearing it around for house work and my metal tool box lid fell while I was putting some tools away, didn’t feel a thing. Long story short, if you are required to wear a hard hat, but still feel like you should protect your head with good ventilation, this hat is great, and comfy. Cons: it’s shape is a little off, but I suppose that the gap between my head and the top helps protect from shock. The back Velcro strap is pretty lame. I wish it was a clip so that I could make is tight and more solid. Again, I’ve used this to my advantage by putting my ponytail through it which helps hold it down. With a better back strap, it’ll likely not fall off.

My poor father is notorious for hitting his head. It turned into a family joke at some point! I even bought him his own hardhat for Christmas one year! Lol! Now that he is older, nothing has changed! He and my mom just moved into their new house. He was so proud of himself one day because he indeed hit his head on something in the garage and came in the house just to brag that he hit his head but he was wearing his hardhat! Lol! Then he said he became too hot wearing it so he took it off for a little while and, unfortunately, while it was off he hit his head again on the corner of the garage door rails which are very sharp metal. God love him, he walked into the house and my mom and I were working on other things and he yelled out that he hit his head again! We shook our heads and smiled at each other. Then we heard him say, “ I think it’s serious this time”. When we walked over to see him we were shocked at the amount of blood that was coming down his head. We rushed him to the emergency room and he did in fact have to have staples. My poor daddy! He’s in his 70s. when I heard that he took off the hardhat because it was getting too hot for him I am mediately tried to find a replacement solution. That is when I found this hat! He loves it! He wears it every day all the time because it’s that comfortable! I wasn’t even aware that they made something like this. It is a blessing! My poor father now has a permanent not on the top of his head where he hit the rail of the garage door. But never again will I have to worry about him having to get stitches because he hits it so hard. I can not thank the person who came up with this brilliant idea enough!!

Qualifier, I’ve only worn this with a light duty headlamp. So the falling off is partially due to that. 70% the shallow hat, 30% the headlamp. The hat is shallow. I have a normal sized head. If anything, some caps sit too low on my head. This is the first time I’ve experienced the opposite. It reminds me of a yarmulke. The adjustable band is elastic and Velcro with no cinch. So you can only get it so tight, and even then, it flexes. A non flexible band would likey solve this problem. When I wear this hat as tight as comfortably possible, it will often slip right off my head if I lean over too much or for too long. Yes, I have a light headlamp on. But I didn’t have issues with a ball cap. I bought this because to prevent forehead pressure from the headlamp as well as protect my head while working on my car. It’s fine if you’re mostly upright, but if you lean over to look under something, expect it to slide right off your head.

I recently had brain surgery, and because I work outdoors often, I wanted a hat that gave some kind of protection for my head. This hat is not heavy and probably is not the best when looking for head protection, but I like it because of its saftey feature, peace of mind, looks like a ball cap and is lightweight. I would buy it again.

Love this cap! Bought it to wear while outside raking leaves to protect my head from all the falling nuts from our trees! And it really works!!

Safety hat

After suffering a severe head injury, I've made a few clumsy mistakes causing bumps to my head. I've not wanted to stick out with protective headgear, so a bump cap was very appealing. I'm pleased to say that the hat fits perfectly, and test knocks seem to dissipate well. I can't wear it for prolonged periods, but perfect for those outings where I can blend in without anyone knowing I'm using protective headgear.

Hard wearing bump cap. Worth the extra money compared to the cheaper brands. Easy to remove material for washing and doesn't shrink and colours don't run. Very comfortable to wear.

I purchased this cap as i was fed up with banging my head working under vehicles, i can confirm this is an excellent choice of cap, its fairly comfortable, looks good and does the job, price wise i got mine on amazon wearhouse deals so i am pleased with that. Go ahead and buy, you can't put a price on your health and safety.

This cap exceeded my expectations! Upon unboxing the package I saw how sturdy the cap was. It has a hard plastic inliner, the inliner has a cushion as well. It does not feel or look bulky as the designer incorporated the cap and inliner as snug as possible. Kudos to the manufacturer!
