Citrusy...not really hot.
It wasn't what I expected at all, but the stuff is great to have on hand. It's not spicy like I thought. If you want a hot chili type sauce, this isn't what you're looking for. It's very citrusy. A little bit goes a long way with the citrus flavor. It has a taste reminiscent of orange rind. I found it to be a little too much on it's own. So, I turned it into an oil and it was fantastic. Blend a half cup of vegetable or soy bean oil with one tablespoon of red tutu kosho and half a tablespoon of yuzu juice. The combination would turn a roofing shingle into a tasty treat. It's also great for stir fry or anything else you want to give a unique citrus kick. I recommend it. Plus, it came with surprise Japanese candy as a freebie. It took a while to be delivered, but seller was upfront about it and I actually received sooner than stated.

Extraordinary flavor
Someone mentioned this on a cooking show, so I thought I'd try it. It's an amazing mixture of citrus, salt, and chile, very strongly flavored, very hot. I can't wait to start experimenting with it.

This exact brand is sold in the fabulous food court of Isetan department store in Tokyo--one of the top department stores for food products. Yes, it's slightly cheaper in Japan but carrying it in my suitcase is a pain, and I can focus on bringing back other brands of yuzu-kosho for variety.

Teriffic Sauce
This is the best type of yuzu kosho I have found. The flavor is amazing. I wish it was possible to buy in larger containers with a cheaper price.
