Expensive but worth it

Might seem a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Excellent piece of equipment. Bought as a second unit for my second Nikon body\long lens. Don't trust cheap imitations...

Disliked - it's expensive!! Liked - If you are going to hang 3Kg of photographic kit on something, make sure it is good and strong - like this. This screws into the tripod bracket of my telephoto. I then use it to clip on a stainless steel carabiner (breaking load >100kg) + shoulder strap. There are complete camera strap kits that cost less than this eyelet alone, and from personal experience I wouldn't trust my camera hanging on any of them.

This is fine to have as a spare for your black rapid camera strap, as good as the ones they come with and screw into the tripod mount on the bottom of your camera. Why they don't get 5* is as the screws do work loose even when done up tight and are checked. If one comes undone the camera goes crashing to the floor. When this happened to me it was when standing on a hard surface and the damage to the camera was hundreds of pounds in repair bill. Not ideal.

Bought this after trying some cheap alternatives which I returned to Amazon. They are over priced for what they are, but be warned - the cheap ones have poorly cut threads which are liable to damage your camera!

I use a Black Rapid strap and bought this "stealth" version fastener for when out photographing wildlife. Unfortunately, if like me you have the Black Rapid Lockstar Breathe safety clip fitted to the Black Rapid strap's ConnectR locking carabiner it is impossible to clip on as the Fasten R5 is thicker. You have a choice: Use the FastenR5 and compromise on safety and risk the camera becoming unclipped or (like me) stop using it and revert to the original eye bolt.

This was advertised as a replacement for the R3, it is thicker and doesn't fit the clip on the Black Rapid Sport Strap. Be aware.

Im Gegensatz zu billig Anbietern weiss man hier dass es sich um die Originalqualität handelt, wichtig wenn man eine teure Kamera hat.

Fait le job, je l'utilise avec un gros mousqueton pour faire coulisser une sangle. L'anneau est enduit ce qui limite les bruits métallique.
