We actually use this on our homestead rather than in the kitchen. It is great to "cut" landscaping fabric for the garden. Cuts and seals the edge of the frabric so it doesn't fray. Just be very careful, the heat output is VERY good, and keep out of reach of children. The little stand for the bottom makes it easy to set down and store. Anything you need to burn quickly like weeds in an area that's hard to reach or you don't want to use a chemical spray. We love this handy thing.

Update 10/5/2023: Customer service is amazing. They have even reached out to me after the fact to double check if everything is going ok with my replacement. Which it has, I had the chance to try it again in the exact same way they last one broke while doing, and it works just fine. I appreciate how they handle things. Cerine said "From day 1, making sure the customer is happy was the #1 priority" not verbatim lol. But that's the summery. This seems like a really good company. Cerine, the service rep that has been in touch with me, has been beyond helpful and extremely prompt as well. As mentioned, my replacement was here seemingly overnight. I can think of a few companies that could take a note or two from them... Begin Original Review: I bought this product, probably to be used slightly outside of its product description. However, the one I got actually ended up breaking the very first time I used it. Note: I was actually using it to light a fire, still pretty outside of the product description, but nothing crazy. It was also approaching 90 degrees on this day. A lot of heat involved in this situation. Long story short, the knob broke, I mentioned an even shorter version of what happened to the seller and now I have a new head unit waiting to be tested which seemed like it showed up overnight. I believe I last spoke with the seller on the 26th of this month and the replacement showed up yesterday, the 27th. So sometime between the 25th and 26th the seller had already made effort to have the replacement shipped. Pros- -It totally works as described. -I ordered the set which has 2 tanks included, was a good value. -The price is not so bad. For the head unit and 2 tanks of fuel, I can live with this. -You get some free recipes -Apparently you get really good customer service! Because my issue was address pretty much immediately leaving me with a brand-new unit really quickly. Cons -The knob on the top of my first unit totally stopped working which makes the device unusable unless you can fix it. I could not fix mine. Please keep in mind, it is a device with plastic parts that creates heat, I was using it on a really hot day to do something that ultimately makes more heat. Circumstances were not in favor of the device at all. Additional note: It looks like if you have the know-how and the stuff around, the knob can be fixed and made to work again. However, I did not know until I took it apart to investigate nor do I have the tools available to do so. With that being said, I was loving the torch until it broke. It worked well for me and was very reliable until that moment. However, with the level of responsiveness and care from the seller I would have no problem buying another one as long as they don't keep breaking, lbvs. I will update here if there are any issues with the replacement going forward. I was originally going to give it less stars but considering how well this was handled, unless I have additional problems, I am giving them 5 stars because they took care of the issue really well.

I am very pleased with the Jo Chef butane and torch. Very easy to use and I am grateful for the butane base for extra security. It took a few times using it to know there are two flame adjustments. The one at the back makes the flame stronger or softer and the adjustment in the middle changes the flame from a torch to flame. The cans seem big enough and easy enough to handle. I received an email from Jo Chef as soon as my butane and torch arrived notifying me of a safety brochure to read before using as well as links to recipes. Overall I’m extremely satisfied.

So far so good. Seems easy to use. New purchase but was fairly easy to assemble and used it to torch an orange peel and worked pretty well. Way better than my older one had to refill and hurt hand using. Can't wait to experiment with it for more fun cooking.

Good value

After a year of near daily use my Jo Chef Pro torch was having trouble igniting. I contacted support and was immediately contacted by Cerine. A replacement Torch was shipped to me directly without further ado. Continued receiving emails from Cerine to ensure I received the replacement and I was back in business cooking up masterpieces. 100% recommended.

These torches were bought so my son could pop bubbles in his pour paintings. The flames that come out is this thing are amazingly strong! Probably too strong for the paintings but great to start camp fires! They work well. I recommend

I initially had trouble attaching the torch lighter to the butane gas cannister. The direction sheet is very small and difficult to read. I saw there is a groove around the cannister that attaches to the torch lighter. It works great, but you must be careful to keep the flame under control. The knob which controls the flame is on top of the torch lighter. I made creme brulee and used the torch lighter to burn the sugar that I spread on top of the creme brulee. Keep a steady hand when firing up this product and definitely keep it away from children. I would definitely purchase this product again. Product has 2 large gas cannisters.
