The storyline was fun and imaginative, the characters were likable and relatable, and the writing was addictive, all drawing the reader into this magical world. I fell directly into the story on page one and only looked up after the last word. It was filled with all the emotions, the connections and the love. Lachlan is the caretaker of MacAlpine Castle in Loren Brae Scotland. He is a grumpy Scot who does not believe in the myths that his village is steeped in. Sophie lives in California and spent her teenage years living with her eccentric Scottish uncle and his 7th wife. When her uncle dies, she inherits the Castle in Scotland with some specific requirements. Sophie does not just inherit the Castle, she also has become the first Knight of the Order of the Caledonia and is tasked with protecting Clach na Fìrinn in Loren Brae. As Sophie her Knight “training” and completes her three tasks, she and Lachlan become closer. To get to their HEA and for Sophie to become the Knight, there will be baggage unpacking, leaps of faith, and fear conquering. I am looking forward to reading more in this series. 4.5 stars. Review: cute quick read - I laughed out loud multiple times. Quick hook, cute characters, interesting plot line. I plan to read the rest of the series.

Loved this, looking forward to the next one.
I loved this book and the cast of characters the author has built, in fact I binge read the 7 books already out in the series over a two week period this spring and am anxiously awaiting the next book in November. This is a Scottish romance, with fantasy elements from folklore, and realistic character development. I particularly liked how the POV switched back and forth between the two main characters, and there were some adorable animal characters including a prankster fluffy ghost cow, a moody dog, and ravens that bring gifts. The side characters are so engaging and I’m excited to see each of them step up to protect their town using their own talents, especially Agnes. Highly recommend, fabulous summer read that will leave you smiling.

Whimsy, giggles and a touch of spice
I purchased this in February 2024. I read it when I bought it but my pet peeve is having to wait for the next in the series. So, that being said I didnt go back to it until I was scrolling through my new Kindle Unlimited subscription. And now I am up to date and I have selected all that are available (well the next one comes out in a few days, and then I have to wait until April 2026!!!!! So back to my review. I truly enjoyed the antics (Ghost Highland Coo!!) Sir Buster and Lady Lola are a warming touch not matter the growling. This story has sadness (loss), sillies (all the critters) and of course the spicy. I enjoy the touch of Magic but cant understand why they spell it with a K at the end of the work??? I have enjoyed it so much that I have made myself a list of ALL of Tricia O’Malley’s books… and I will start on those while waiting for the next in this series. Thank YOU Ms. O’Malley for all your words!!!

Sophie and Lachlan
There’s magic, mysticism and paranormal mixed into this romance set in the Scottish highlands. Sophie learns she is actually a knight who is destined to save a small Scottish town from kelpies. She was willed a castle too. And the occupants of the castle and town and there to help her. Lachlan is a big broody Scot who doesn’t quite trust Sophie at first despite being instantly attracted to her. It’s a sweet and comforting story with some romance, a little sex and danger. Sophie finds her place in Scotland and Lachlan now has her by his side to help fight the kelpies and keep the town safe. Like the story but not sure I want to continue the series.

Great read!
I loved the sweetness of this story along with the myths and legends. The author gives the reader plenty of information on said myths and because she dives so deeply into the characters and what makes them tick, the reader is sucked right in. This is a great read and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes a sweet story without crime or cruelty.

Fun book to read
Read in Feb of 2025. Written by Tricia O'Malley. This is book 1 of her enchanted highlands series. The beginning of the book gives a small glossary of scottish words/slang, which was useful and fun to read thru. Even still, there were words I had to Google like Loo (it's where you go for a gobby or jobby). Another unfamiliar term was weelies. . . which I guess are what we'd call smuck boots. This was a fun book to read. The book is written by two different perspectives, both of the main characters . . .Sophie MacKnight from the US and Lachlan from the castle there in Scottland. At first I didn't think I'd care for this writing style, but caught on quickly. I intentionally chose this book because of my Scottish heritage. . . and for fun to celebrate that, I want to read Wild Scottish Love with it's green cover to celebrate St Patrick's day in March☘️🍀. Sophie's uncle raised her and when he passed away, he sent her to the castle he owned in Scottland to reinstate the order and become the Knight with stipulations that had to stay a year before the MacAlpine Castle would become hers. The other quirky characters are Sophies's friend Matthew that goes with her to Scottland. Then at the castle is Lachlan with helpers Archie and Hilda. (Love the names!) Makes me feel like I'm vacation reading the book! A couple of other characters are Graham who runs a pub and another town person/friend named Agnes. Och, another word used thru out the book, and is used to express many emotions like surprise, regret, or disbelief. There's definitely some wit and dry humor. Now to self, also look up what's a wanton woman? What's a dirk, because no proper Scottsman would be caught without one. Chapter 18 was one of my favorites. I love to do things for others without them knowing who did it!

A good read with romance, kilts, action, kilts and a great storyline. Particularly if you like Scottish men, folklore, and kelpies.

I was entertained in the best way possible. And I very much appreciate the „not-barby-like“ heroine! Very nicely done, Tricia!

A nice intro book to a series that could prove to be highly entertaining. The characters all have unique quirks and personalities that are memorable.

This was so charming! It had a very sweet and a little spice to it that made it a very enjoyable read. It takes place in Scotland (duh) and we follow a woman who has inherited a castle that comes along with some legends. Of course there is a hot highlander who she has insta-attraction with and you follow as she learns about her role with the legend of the castle and its loch. The plot itself seemed a bit convenient at times, and it wasn’t very complicated but sometimes I love the simplicity of a sweet romance with a bit of fantasy. This is the first in the series, and I am excited to keep going with it as the third one coming out next week is a Christmas one!
