The Amazon description says 500 colour photographs, well I suppose that is true if by colour you count just black and white. That said the book itself is perfect as a reference manual for osteology.

Very interesting if you like bones!

I was required to purchase this book for my university studies. The book is very clear and detailed. It contains all of the necessary information needed to identify all of the bones in the human body, as well as some other helpful information (like explinations of anatomical terminology). There are also many helpful reference pictures. I do not think I will need any other book for my anthropology modules. Finally, one of my required university books that is actually affordable.

Really useful guide. Not so good for looking at juvenile bones but really useful as a general reference for all the bones and ageinf, sexing and estimating stature. Loads of pictures throughout so you know what you're looking for if/when competing to real skeletons. I'm an archaeology and anthropology student and this has been essential!

最初は用語(英語)の難解さに辟易していましたが、読み進めるごとに楽しくなってきます。 章ごとに取り扱う部位が違っているので、どこから始めても良いとは思いますが、 やはり苦しくても最初から読み進めると、前で読んだことがベースとなり、 後続章が分かりやすくなる気はします。 これを読んでいて、筋肉の本も読みたくなりました。

Le he puesto las 5 estrellas porque el libro llegó a tiempo, nuevo y es simplemente genial. Se trata de un manual básico para cualquier persona que se dedique a la Antropología física: yo lo utilizo más como manual de campo, ya que muchas veces trabajando necesito observar huesos de la colección de referencia de turno y obviamente eso no puedo llevarlo a una excavación. Está todo muy bien explicado e ilustrado, en un vocabulario más que asequible para principiantes pero también para doctos en la materia. Lo recomiendo muy mucho!
