Small strong and safe for reef tanks
I love this little thing. Used it for about 5 months in a 29 gallon tank to eliminate some dead spots in a reef tank, and now moved it to my 40 breeder to eliminate dead zones. It's powerful, I have it set at about 50% right now and it provides tons of wide strong flow to disrupt algae growth and stir up detritus. Never had problems with livestock getting inside it as the cage is very secure and it is low profile to the glass. Also it's very easy to take apart and clean, and it never stopped working the whole time I've had it (8 months) I have maybe cleaned it 3 times and it doesn't even care. Controls are also easy to use and figure out, and it has enough settings to justify the price.

Stop working after about 3 weeks
Love the size of it, It worked great for about 3 weeks then it just stopped working now I have blinking lights. It's in a saltwater tank I figured it would work but maybe it's something with that goes and it might work. Kind of disappointing

Creates a quiet gentle flow
This wavemaker pumps works well for gentle water movement. I use this in my 35g saltwater tank with corals. The other pumps I've tried were way too strong and were damaging my coral. The stickers and most of the manual are not in English, but the controls are intuitive. Also, the motor is quiet, but you can hear it some in a very quiet room.

Great little wave pump
I will start with the shortcomings, instructions suck and are not very clear. That being said, this little pump is amazing in our tank so far. Not sure if it will last or not but we have it running on the lowest power setting and it seems to make everything happy. Size is super small and it can definatly move some water. We have this installed in a 5 gallon EVO nano tank but I am positive that it is powerful enough to be used in something up to maybe 30 gallons.

Tiny but great! - for a while
1.5 year update: I think I just got used to the noise. I had been running the replacement pump for the past yearish. It began to display the same issues as the first pump. I just kept using it as it would fail predictably. Turning off and on every few seconds with a pulse of water. So it basically just turned into a wavemaker, worked for me. I finally upgraded to a proper sized tank and began using my nero 5 again. I attempted to use this small pump to cover up some dead spots but quickly realized it had been producing this irritating clicking noise. It never really bothered me when it was set up in my previous tank as it must have come on gradually. I checked the pump all over to see if anything was hitting the shroud, nope. It continued to give the errors previously stated as well. Anyway compared to a proper wavemaker they have a motor drone and with the vibrations from the pump it was a no go. As it goes they seem to last about 6-8 months before issues arise. Makes more sense to me to buy a different brand. My nero 5 at 240 dollars has lasted 5 years and is still pumping. So, cost/benefit it to see if a Nero 3 or similar high-end wavemaker would suit your wallet better. 8 month update: This device continued to operate normally until about the 7 month mark. I have regularly cleaned it by taking it apart and ensuring all components were free from buildup. However, it began to malfunction. It would attempt to spin up and push water but would quickly flash orange - indicating an error. The pump would then stop spinning for a moment and restart this process. It led to a small wave being pushed randomly every 3-6 seconds. It didn't matter what flow mode or power setting it was adjusted to. I reached out to the seller and they offered to replace the item. The new one appears to have a few updates. The controller has a different printout on it showing what the flow mode colors mean. There is also a textured backing added to the silicone on the powerhead itself - I suspect to help in holding the powerhead on the glass. Other than that. It looks pretty much like the same thing. For the cost of 40 bucks to get 7 months of operation? Not great. Not horrible. It's still the smallest powerhead I'm aware of with this kind of flow....so...can't complain too much! I'd still buy it again. Original: I took a chance on this listing. No reviews and an overseas shipper. I purchased the 570GPH 5W model for 39.99. They gave an estimated arrival date of may 10th to june 10th...but it arrived on the 5th of may, so that's nice. I have only had this for a day but wanted to provide some insight as the listing as pretty poor and lacks much information. The dimensions of 1.6 by 1.6 are accurate, this thing is definitely very small. It is powered by a USB A plug which I prefer as I can run it off a multi USB outlet and save plug space on my strips. It comes with a reasonably written manual, a bunch of stickers (that I don't understand the point of), a velcro strip for the controller, 3 covers for the pump, and a USB power source. The best I can tell it has 3 pump modes. It has constant, pulse, and a slow pulse. You can only adjust the pump's speed and not adjust the pulses' timing or anything like that. I ran it out of the water and it didn't like that, giving me an error state flashing light on the controller. This shows it has some feedback built in. It almost reminds me of the TMC nano flow 1000, but it hasn't been released in the US. The dimensions, power source, and look are the same, so it could be just a rebrand. So far it seems to perform reasonably well. I put it in a tank that's still getting off the ground so I don't have corals to check about its flow. However, It moves a reasonable amount of water in a 15 gallon tank. It's silent while running. The included covers do adjust the flow and allow the flow to spread out a bit. The magnet doesn't seem to have any issue holding the pump through 6mm glass. I have a nero 5 in my other identical tank which is just complete overkill. So I don't really have a good comparison. I would say in the IM 15 AIO tank I would want 2 of them. One towards the front and another on the opposite rear. I included a photo comparing it to the nero 5 in the tanks. The nero can fit at least 4 of them inside it. I'll update this over time.

Horrible Product, do not order
Horrible product, it stopped working after 2 weeks. Complete rip off. I would of put zero stars but the review forces you to put one.

Great for a NANO or PICO!
The fact of the matter is, the device is tiny and has such a small profile that the 1000 lph flow rating is probably not accurate. If you need to add some flow to a pico or nano reef then this is a solid budget option. It basically has the same functions as most of the high end wavemakers on the market but at a fraction of the price, no complaints. That being said 2000 model is best for something like a 5-10 gallon tank. I would advise getting the 3000 for anything more than 10 gallons. This product is great for circulation and wave making in small volumes of water.

Could have Been a Great Wavemaker
Wanted to like this wavemaker and it worked great for the first couple of weeks. I bought it for a brand new saltwater tank I was setting up. It was compact, simple and had a simple controller, was great in my little tank. At 30 days it started to have issues of the blade head would stop spinning and now it wont spin at all. You can feel the motor spin but the blade has to be pushed to start. The instructions recommend cleaning and I did that several times in the last couple of weeks. There really wasn't anything to clean that would cause this to happen. I own several other wavemakers and have not had this level of failure. I have reached out to customer service but have not gotten a response yet. I understand things can go wrong in manufacturing. Hopefully, their customer service will take care of the issue. I will update my review when I get a response. Update: Received replacement pump not from contacting their customer service but from writing negative review. I have installed the pump and it is working. I will update again after 30 days since that was what it took to fail last time. Once I contacted customer service they were helpful, I added 1 star to my review.

I was really scared. I used to have another power head 5watt, and it was too strong. I now have this in the lowest setting on intermittent and it is causing turbulence in that corner but the rest of the aquarium is fine. I love the magnet, I love that it takes little space, and it is soft yet strong enough to circulate water on my wide-ish aquarium (60x30x30cm). My khuli loaches also love it!

I was hopeful that this was a winner for my 5 gal Fluval sea tank given its only a inch and a half and runs on usb….but nope…..1st issue was my controller for this thing was half responsive right outta the box…the minus button wouldn’t change the flow down and had everything in my tank get blown harder then Bonnie blue on a workday especially my frogspawns and mushrooms (one went flying and can’t find it now). Will keep looking for the right fit wave maker….(probably will try a 3W)
