Rochester Women's Shoe Tree

Fresh cedar, smells great and will help preserve leather. Proper tension and they fit my wife's small shoes (I ordered small, but she often finds "small" is larger to make women think their feet are smaller-- this designation is spot on). Only negative (and this seems to be true of all cedar shoe trees) is that the back heel area should be rougher so the wood does not spring upward and lose tension when the shoe trees are inserted. Would be a simple solution- roughen the wood or add a small patch of high friction material).

Great shoe trees--exactly what was wanted. At a higher price point it would be yet nicer, sure, but this is sturdy enough, does the job, and is real cedar. I ordered medium for my size 6 (occasional 6.5) shoes--right fit; my boots are looking much better.Edit 12/2016: I have three of these now and just ordered a fourth. All are perfectly sized/look exactly as expected and in great condition after pretty heavy use (taking in/removing). I have one pair of high heeled ankle boots where it's a bit tricky to get the tree to stay in, but I can usually manage it with a little patience.

I have a narrow foot but needed to increase width and length if at all possible because I buy at least a full size smaller in most shoes since narrows are uncommon in sizing. The medium width in a full size smaller shoe is pretty close to what I normally need but since the length isn't perfect, find I need a little more width since I am losing on the length of the shoe and my foot is filling out the whole shoe to the max. That said, even though these inserts aren't particularly wide in a women's small, they still accomplish the task. I also steam the shoe a bit maybe a few minutes over a pot of boiling water to help stretch the toe box. Doubt the insert will lengthen the shoe but perhaps over time it might help with that as well. I like the product, though not expensive if you're willing to work with it, it seems to help. I might still consider the larger size for some of my footwear since it did seem that the toe box was on the narrow side. However I had bought a medium and it was just too big for the shoe I had in a women's size 7.5. It's a hit or miss but one can always return for a different size as I did the first time.

Moisture absorbing cedar provides just the right amount of “breaking in” needed for new shoes so they don’t hurt my feet. My shoe closet smells amazing. Have a pair in all of my closed heel shoes.

How can a "standard" product go wrong? If it is under-designed for its purpose. On the third insertion of the trees, one of the split cylinders that connect the two wooden pieces of the tree buckled. During the first two insertions, I noted that the tree did not slide smoothly on compression. On this third insertion, it stuck, I pressed more firmly and the inadequately designed tube buckled as you can see in the photo. Inexpensive, yes, but costly for what you get.

Aside from the first questions, all other questions apply to shoes and not to shoe trees. Please correct.Now, for the review of the shoe trees, they are good, but every pair that I purchased so far has one of the two shoe trees that doesn't go in properly.There seems to be a part in the mechanism that is defective or weak. I need to re-insert them a few times before they can go in properly.

Finally, one day I said, enough is enough with all these wrinkles. These are easy to use, fit great in my shoes, smell good, and my shoes/boots finally don't stretch out and wrinkle anymore. I don't know what took me so long. I have purchased a few more pairs now and I always keep one pair at the door.

I wanted to love these, but after struggling through MAYBE three uses, the hinges on one don’t work at all.If you want shoe trees for shoes you won’t wear more than once a year max, these are for you!
