The inner circle contain the alchemical symbols for Sulphur, water, air, and salt, the representing the 4 elements and the foundation of life. Used in meditations and ritual practices, black candles are used to absorb negative energy and help banish evil. Soy candles burn cleaner and longer than paraffin candles. Unlike paraffin wax, a gasoline by-product, soy wax is a natural product derived from soybeans and is non toxic. Due to its low burning temperature, soy candles tend to outlast paraffin candles in burn time. Hand-poured and made in Vancouver, Canada. Review: Great candle and surprisingly wonderful scent! Terrible (i.e. NO) packaging! - The scent is amazing! I was highly skeptical due to the strong star anise scent, but once it had burned for an hour the odor was very therapeutic! So glad I gave this a shot. That being said, the packaging was TERRIBLE! Literally, the candle tin was tossed into the box; no cushion, no padding, nothing. Therefore, the candle looks quite beaten up with the dents from shipping! However, the candle itself is wonderful.
