Volcanoes: 1 (Beginners Series)

What an amazing series of books, although I only bought a couple, it is the kind of gift that you can keep adding to. They are educational and engrossing. I went the Hard Cover route as the children are still fairly young and I feel Hard Cover is the way to go.

I have bought several books in this series from Usbourne for my 5 year old son, and I think they are all brilliant. My son wants me to buy more for Christmas. The books are neat in size, hard-backed, and full of clear colour diagrams and photographs for illustrations. The text is brief, simple but to the point, explaining huge facts in a way that is easy for young children to get their heads around. If you want your child to take an interest in the world around them then take a look at all the books in the series. I have also purchased 'Weather', 'The Romans', and 'London', and my son loves all of them. If your child is also learning to read by themselves, then these are also suitable. There are one or two big words to deal with but if you have already read the book through with them, they will know this, and there is a dictionary at the back.

Very pleased with this book, It is just the right size for little hands, with just the right amount of information for my 5 year old. The facts are clear and to the point. The pictures are fascinating. This book has prompted lots of online research, my son wanted to know more about Pompeii and we have located where all of the volcanoes featured, are on his world map in his bedroom. He has decided when he grows up he wants to be a Volcanologist! (Will let you know in about 20 years if that happens!!)

Bought thsee for my six yr old grandson and he absolutely loves the whole series of Usborne Beginners! I have to keep buying him more as he's given me the list of all the titles he wants!! They are so informative but written in an interesting and easy to understand style with plenty of exciting pictures to illustrate the text. Brilliant books!!

Amazing book! We have five more books from this old Usborne collection. I do recommend it! We also use it to do a project about volcanoes.

Great beginners book, I have struggled with getting my son interested in reading and he finds school books boring. He loved reading this book as it was all about facts, the easy layout and words made it great for him to be able to read independently.

This is a great book for young readers. I bought this for my 7 year old grandson who did a volcano out of Bicarbonate of Soda and Malt Vinigar (we had a plastic mould) and then read the book and then just like a volvano 'spouted off' all this information. The information in the book, obviously about volcanoes, is written so that children will understand it and what I liked was the fact that there's not a lot of reading per page.

Great book for my 5 year old, he loves it! I was worried that it would be too full of text and not enough pictures but it's a nice balance. Would recommend.

I use the us borne products as part of my homeschool program and my son loves their books. They do a great job and I own almost every kids science type book there is!

A new favourite book for my 3 year old. Perfect amount of information, accessibly written, and just the right length. Will definitely be buying more books from this series.

Good Content. Good explanation with color images. Book quality is excellent. Great learning experience for kids of age 5-6 years.

Bought this for my curious 3yo. The pictures are age appropriate and it has just the right amount of information (not a lot of text). Definitely recommend this book.
