BOTANICALS Ice Design Tray

I got this for a Christmas gift for my father. We had a lot of fun melting the patterns into the different ice cubes. The designs melt on quickly, but the longer they stay on the pattern the deeper the design and the longer it will keep said design while melting into your drink. A great gift for someone who enjoys iced drinks snd doesn’t want to try shaping ice in molds (beside a basic square).

This ice cube design tray is quite neat. It does elevate the look of your cocktails (as long as you have actual clear ice cubes) but there are some practical issues I have had this product and some solutions to these problems. First it is difficult and impractical to put a design on each side of the cube. It takes more than 5 seconds to really get the design on the cube so I found it better to just let the ice cube sit on one side (which will be the top side when it is in the glass) for a few minutes. The next thing is that the design will quickly go away if you pour your drink over the cube, to resolve this issue use your bar spoon to gently set the ice cube in your drink and it will keep the design safer. The last issue I have doesn’t have a good solution, the “special” designs (not the patterns) don’t seem to last at all. They disappear almost immediately where as the simple patterns last for a good while. I am not sure why this is but it was kind of a disappointment. So overall this is neat but I wouldn’t buy this again. It does make a good decoration piece in a bar area.

Works great! Easy to use, but probably only worth it if you’ve figured out the clear ice thing/directional freezing already. It isn’t going to magically make your cloudy ice from a mold clear.

Magico non ci credevo eppure fa velocemente l impronta sul ghiaccio . L ho preso più che altro perché non ci credevo da ex barista curiosa e costa poco rispetto al primo che ho visto in vita mia forse l originale . Questo è un bell'oggetto abbordabile . Lo userò per stupire i miei amici a casa all ora dell' aperitivo . Bellissimo come regalo se avete barman nella sfera dei conoscenti .
