I was looking for lightweight knee high socks to layer under my regular- or heavy-weight pairs -- I do like warm feet in the winter. These are perfect. Very soft and comfortable, generously sized foot so toes aren't constricted, good length, wide, perfectly elasticized band -- not tight, not loose -- to keep them in place. They're thin enough for my "doubling up" but substantial enough to wear by themselves. In fact, I think I'll probably wear these occasionally as trouser sox with my dress flats. Very nice socks. I'm ordering another set, different color, today.

The fabric is soft and warm, and the colors are rich, strong, and not faded. They stay in place well and feel comfortable throughout the day. These socks are soft, comfortable, stay up very well, have no seams in the toes to cause discomfort. They are cotton socks, not hosiery, so personally I do not see them as dress socks. They are my everyday socks to wear with boots, sneakers, footwear of the day. I am reviewing my second order of these socks, so you know I really like them.

These COTTON DAY knee-high socks are extremely comfortable and well made. The combed cotton feels soft against the skin, and I absolutely love the seamless toe design, it makes a big difference in comfort, especially if you’re wearing them all day with boots or dress shoes. One helpful tip: wash the socks before wearing them for the first time. I initially tried them straight out of the package and noticed they felt a bit snug around the top. After the first wash and air-drying, they relaxed perfectly and were no longer tight at the calf. Once washed, they stay up beautifully throughout the entire day without slipping or digging in. They keep my feet warm without feeling bulky, making them great for both casual and dress wear. Overall, these socks are soft, cozy, and thoughtfully designed for comfort. I never give 5 star ratings, but have to give credit where credit is due! At last I’ve found knee socks that are not too long for my legs (I’m 5’0”); are thick enough to be warm without being too thick to fit in my shoes; are large enough so my feet aren’t crowded; and have a high cotton content so my feet don’t sweat as with synthetic fibers! And the flat toe seam means no rubbing. As soon as I washed and wore my first set (in black, gray and navy), I immediately bought a second set. I’m completely happy with these socks.

These are actually good knee socks. Detailed review, based on one wearing: I bought these socks specifically to protect my legs in the woods while playing disc golf. In the heat and humidity of summer when I wear shorts and golf skirts to play the sport, there are health risks to my lower legs: getting scratched by thorns, brambles, and branches; being bitten by deer ticks carrying Lyme Disease; poison ivy, oak, and sumac; cockleburs and stinging nettles. These things are everywhere in wooded areas of the Midwest and it's impossible to avoid them entirely (shank a throw, and you're hunting for your disc in deep bush). I chose white socks so that ticks would be easy to see. They also match my white athletic shoes, so the color choice does look intentional, and white is a neutral that goes with everything. A girl has to look good while playing this sport! It's an advantage... Maybe the boys will be distracted by how cute I look and not play as well as they otherwise would have. Hey, man... If these socks help me win by distracting other players, then all the better! As for quality and comfort, they exceeded my expectations. The length of the foot area was true to size: I have a size 11 narrow foot. I'm a tall woman, so clothes and shoes are often tricky and don't fit well. I bought the size 9-11 sock, which was surprisingly perfect for me. The toe area was roomy and at first, I was dubious if the socks would bunch in my shoes. But I wore these socks with shorts all day yesterday - at work, doing yard work, grocery shopping and cooking dinner, and they were comfortable for the full day without making me feel too hot. The fabric is thin compared to the acrylic cable socks I wear in winter. The top band of these socks stretched over my calf without binding, and the length was a surprise- tall enough to actually reach my knees; I have long legs and often women's tall knee socks don't actually reach my knee but end somewhere in the middle of my calf. The only negatives about these socks are: they are quite soft, so anything in the woods that wants to grab at my legs is going to stick to my socks. I'll be picking cockleburs off them like crazy. Also the white is going to show dirt and our heavy clay soil causes staining, so I may have to do some extra soaking if these socks get muddy. Ultimately ... Would I buy these again? Based on one wearing, yes. I might update this review if any problems arise; and if I continue to like them, I may update the review if I love them and purchase other colors.

I wear size 9 shoe, ordered black 9-11 sock size and socks fit perfectly. Washed before wearing on warm, dried without shrinking. I ordered black and the socks do not color my feet black when wet. Soft, very comfortable knee socks, not too thin or thick, can be layered. My jeans fit semi skinny style and I am able to layer the Cotton Day socks, cuddl dud pants and then my jeans. Recommend.
