Youngman 302340 2-Section Spacemaker Loft Ladder

Got this to access the roof space in my garage, for which it works brilliantly. My joists are 22 inches apart and it fits nicely with room to spare. Take care when removing packaging, the instructions are on the rear of the sheet that are taped to the ladder. Reviewers have criticised the instructions as not being that good. At first glance they do look busy, however, lay everything out, look at the area your working in and just take it a step at a time. The biggest thing to take into account is the space you will need above and behind for storage , i would reckon at least 3-4 feet above and 4-5 feet behind to be really on the safe side. A couple of reviewers have received a damaged item, my ladder was slightly damaged, there was a dent in one of the runners, something heavy must have been put on it in transit, however its only aluminium so I was able to bend it back out with a large flat bladed screwdriver. Build quality is probably about right for what you pay for, im quite a chunky fella and the ladder creaks a bit when im on it but at no point do i feel its at all dodgy. All in all, for the price you cant go wrong.

Hi the ladder for the price is great, Its not something I use every day and I just wanted a means to get in the loft above my garage....The ladder works a treat, I like the way that it will sit at any angle on the floor so it doesnt need to be exact as my loft was quite near my garage door. That said if the company that makes this reads the review...Please do something about the instructions for the assembly as has been mentioned before. You really do need the instructions to fit the thing together, but they make little sence, the colours quoted are wrong for the bits and Im no dunce when it comes to DIY and frankly these would test the patience of a saint. In the end...you guess. If you are quite handy you will probably be ok, if you are a bit green then you will have no hope amnd end up paying for some lad to fit it for you.

Good for the price, easy to fit if you are practically minded in the DIY area... nice strong safe ladder, was the perfect height for our ceilings at 2.3m with some stretch in it to go up to a ceiling height of about 2.5m id say

The instructions could have been a little clearer but sorted it out in the end. Quite easy to install once you've worked out how it all fits together. Some of the supplied screws were replaced since they were a bit short to reach through the loft boards and into the joist, but the couple that go into the side of the joist would have held it quite well. Easy to operate and store away, but do make sure the little lugs engage when stowing the ladder. For the price a great bit of kit - no complaints.

A great loft ladder - light, fairly strong & well priced. BUT, it arrived with THREE BENT RUNGS and the channel that one of the brackets slides in was BENT and kept jamming - see photos. It was probably damaged in transit, but, since Amazon only offer a return/replacement and I don't want to take yet another day off work for delivery, I'm having to live with it. As other people have commented, the instructions are terrible / almost non-existent. I fitted the brackets up-side-down the first time, even after being warned by other people's comments. It's fitted now and it works well. I'd give the ladder 5 stars, delivery 0 stars.

Instructions ultra confusing! Once grasped goes together quite easily. Deadly when attempting to lower from loft but this may be due to the fact my opening is very small and the majority of the ladder is hidden out of of sight making it heavier to lower than I would imagine a more regular hatch size. Due to this the ladder hits the joists with an almighty bang when pushed back into the loft. I would think most of this makes little sense but it will once you have purchased it and assembled etc.

Easy to install Alluminium quality it does the job, but isnt sturdy as i was expecting. I do not like the pole to take it up or down is to soft and i bend one on the first use. Requested a sturdy one and i received the same. I now use both poles to operate and is a bit better.

Etwas anders als gedacht zum ausziehen, erfüllt aber vollkommen seinen Zweck. Bessere Bilder wären eine Hilfe gewesen wo man die Ausziehtechnik besser erkennt. Mehr Details wären klasse gewesen.

tres bien pensé, hauteur reglable sureté,legereté, pratique pour un plafond bas obligatoirement facile à poser en particulier pour mansarde etc

Superbe escalier escamotableque se soit au niveu de la finition en alu brossé qu'au niveau de la qualité technique. Malheureusement cette échelle s'est révélé trop grande pour l'usage que je devais en avoir donc n'est pas pu plus l'apprécier et la critiquer. Mais elle s'avère etre un bon choix pour ceux qui ont besoin d'une grande échelle. Son prix est imbattable par ailleurs

Le vendeur devrait décrire un peu mieux ce qu'il vend. Matériel léger, trop léger pour un usage correct et pas plus de 100 kg, il ne faut pas avoir grand chose à mettre dans son grenier !! Dommage d'avoir commandé et retourné, mais renvoyer avec Amazon est un plus à ne pas négliger.
