![She Said No [DVD] [1990]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51O9gXVpZkL.jpg)

Based on an actual case, the story concerns a lawyer who is cleared of a rape charge and subsequently sues his victim for slander. Veronica Hamel stars as the rape victim who finds herself put on trial after reluctantly accepting a dinner invitaiton from attorney Martin Knapek (Judd Hirsch). Review: EXCELLENT FILM - Very good film. Judd Hirsch is horrible and detestable in it. Fortunately, things have changed but it is interesting to see how it was 30-40 years ago, not just the relationships between men and women but the whole society : the place of women at work back then, how they had to impose themselves to get some recognition, how they had to fight to be respected in their work or when they were abused by "respectable" men. Thanks to all these women who have fought for their rights. They really had to be very strong and we have a better life because of them. Review: She says no...... - Good entertainment providing you can pick this up cheaply. Veronica Hamel most underrated is excellent. It is a shame that there is no conclusion added at end to know what happened to the leading parties involved.

Something Missing
Sorry as to say this could have been better the storyline was good but I expected more from this movie. It seem to lack a lot of emotion from the cast that didn't go down well. It's not a good rating movie but should have been. Story of a lawyer that tricks woman into his office late at night when all is quiet, than rapes them. The trail should have had better results but drag on to more trails down the track, It is slow paced and the suspense and impact with the lines are missing. A very low budget movie so I gave a rating of B grade if you want to watch it, will do if nothing better on the television. I just didn't feel it was right, maybe just me at the time. So enjoy!

Simply Stunning
Veronica Hamel is brilliant, as is Judd Hirsch both are very believable but Lee Grant is quite stunning in her Final Court Room assessment to the jury. If you like to be amazed watch this it is really something.

“I AM an attorney, you’re the one that’ll need an attorney.” [Knapek]
This 1990 TV crime drama centres on Elizabeth Early [Veronica Hamel] who is raped by lawyer Martin Knapek [Judd Hirsch]. It clearly indicates that there was no incitement on Elizabeth’ part so it all seems clear cut but she doesn't count on how cunning Knapek is, or the lengths they both have to go through as it casually walks us through the trauma Elizabeth faces as she attempts to bring her assailant to justice and the prejudice the case brings. A typical Tv rape movie, which unlike most is well filmed with a good sound, with Hirsch playing the role of sinister rapist chillingly, this has the added twist that ****** PLOT SPOILER: when the rape case fails, Knapek files a multimillion dollar slander suit against her. *******. The single disc opens to a main menu offering play, scene selection and special features [3 trailers, film background, 4 star biographies and credit lists] none of which adds anything. Despite the fact this doesn’t have any swearing or nudity, and the sex is out of shot, the subject matter does rate this as 15. As an evening movie it’s a decent **** view but somehow the first half seemed too long before getting to the real point of the film and the ending seemed too abrupt.

I have had this movie on a VHS tape for many years. I was finally able to get it on a DVD. Jud Hirsch is such a good actor - he was obviously very funny on "Taxi" and "She Said No" shows his range. Veronica Hamel only knows how to give a first-rate acting performance and she does not disappoint in this movie.
