This came together nicely, I am surprised how well it works! It looks beautiful as well - but is delicate so be careful turning the music box key. You could easily paint this but I would recommending painting all pieces before assembly. It's not for younger kids or those with impairment to fine motor skills. It might be more frustrating than fun in those situations. This is really great for people who like slightly more advanced puzzles and legos. It is difficult enough to keep hands busy by tinkering for a while, but you can also do it with the tv or radio on in the background. It gave me a good couple of days of entertainment to destress after work. The instruction were pretty easy to follow and provides diagrams for each step. There were just a couple instructions lost in translation, but easy enough to figure out. The only difficulty I found was in removing the pieces from the cutout. Some of the laser etching didn't cut through enough to make it easy. It would be very easy to break pieces. An exacto knife helps here. While it didn't specifically say to sand the pieces, I did make sure to sand any rough areas from removing it from the cutout. I think this made a huge difference in helping it fit together perfectly by the end without having to readjust much. I used some things not included in the kit such as precision electronics tweezers and jewelers files which I highly recommend.

It is all finished. A beautiful piece . I bought it to give to my daughter for her birthday. I know she will love it!!

First time doing one of these and I really enjoyed it! It's not too bad for beginners, although it took me around 8 to 9 hours in an extended session to put it together. Immensely satisfying how well the pieces come together (most of the time). Only ended up breaking two pieces and they have a ton of spares parts included with the set. Directions weren't the hardest to follow and I supplemented it with a youtube video at some steps. Sanding and waxing some stubborn parts made pieces come together like a charm. Take your time and enjoy the process and you too will have a super cool music box you can be proud of 😎

Bought as a gift for my wife, a project we could do together. I ended up having to assemble it myself. :))) There're lots of parts, some spares are included of the more fragile pieces. The instructions are pictographs, cryptically highlighting critical assembly ordering. Important note (for when you go to first test the gears' operation seemingly near the end of the project: the instructions say turn the drive gear in a counter-clockwise direction. HOWEVER. That's only valid if you're turning the drive gear (located on the back) counter-clockwise when viewed from the FRONT. The natural thing to do would be to turn the cello over and operate it counter-clockwise while looking at the gear itself. It absolutely won't work that way. You'll impress yourself when done, though, and everything functions as it should. It will sit proudly on your mantle or shelf as a testament to your skill, patience, and ability to read hieroglyphics!

Great gift for kids, this kept my son busy and away from the iPad this winter break. Comes with extra pieces in case you break one. Easy to follow instructions and kids only need minimal help, my son was able to assemble the cello in a day.

Enjoyed the challenge, it all came together nicely and is a welcome addition to my collection of other kits I’ve put together. I was very disappointed , in the end , that there was NO hint of a “stringed’ instrument in the music it played. You should / could have done better ! I had already, earlier, done a piano and it was a great success!! Kit is good - sound is not right!!

This puzzle was so much fun to make and took me about 7 hours to build. I was impressed at how well it was designed and all the pieces fit perfectly. However this is definitely a older teen/ adult activity and some pieces are very tiny. I have already ordered another model and I will do more of these in the future.

The ROKR 3D Wooden Puzzle Music Box is such a delightful project! The pieces are well-cut and fit together perfectly without needing glue. The instructions are clear, making it easy to follow even for beginners.

It is very nice model but you need to make sure it movable with each step to complete it. If not, you may end up not movable.

Gifted it to a 15 yr old Granddaughter. She spent a whole day constructing it and she was delighted with the finished project. She found it challenging and had to glue a couple of bits she did wrong. The result was stunning and looked exactly like the picture. She wanted to get another one a few days later.
