Excellent bidirectional scan tool at an affordable price. Very easy to use and with the latest software update, special functions are now incorporated within each module for easy navigation. I performed an electronic brake release for rear brake pad replacement without issues. Very fast to scan the entire vehicle for codes. The tool is well made and uses Android 10 OS. You can also use it as a tablet with the built-in browser to search the Internet when troubleshooting problems without having to use a phone or a laptop. I also installed a glass screen protector available on Amazon so now I don't have to worry about scratching the screen while working on a car. Customer service is very responsive in responding to emails. The only thing I wish the D7 had is the topology feature similar to the D8. Hopefully this will be implemented in a future software update.

Works great on older cars . I have used this on three different vehicles and applications. Unit would not work to reset Battery on 2019 F150. 2008 Ford Focus- Emissions leak- Broken Canister mount for vent valve Programed New Ignition Key but not the Key Fob Remote (Had to use key on off learn program). 2019 Ford F150 -New Battery Reset-New battery due to age.( DID NOT WORK -ended up using key brake reset method. ) 2001 Ram 1500- High Purge Valve Current Code. Defective Purge valve. 2009 Suburban- left rear ABS sensor, TPMS sensors, Engine Temp Sensor I have Alltel units that can read data but they do not come close to this units bi directional control.

The D7 offers a feature set you usually see in tools twice it's cost. If there's one thing I have to praise is how fast the unit scans and response from the moment you auto scan a vehicle to pull live data, the D7 moves quickly. The D7 feels solid, its built to handle regular use in a garage environment. The housing is rugged and it seems well protected against everyday bumps, drops grease, and grime that are part of working on cars. Even with all it's advanced features The D7 remains approachable. The Android base interface is user-friendly. Menus are laid out clearly and things like "Auto Vin" and "Auto Scan" makes step up easy for those less experience, that removes a lot of friction. The touchscreen is responsive and large enough to read graphics codes and diagnostic reports without squinting. The XTOOL D7 is one of the best value-for-money OBD2/ bidirectional diagnostic tool that you can but today. It packs speed durability.Advanced diagnostics, and connectivity into a package that won't bankrupt you. For DIYers and shops alike, It delivers dealership level functionality for a fraction of the cost. If you just want basic code reading, it's overkill- but if you want serious diagnostic it's a stellar pick

Worked fine the first couple times I used it. Now it won’t connect to my car. If it is in the key on engine off when I plug it in my car won’t even start. So some thing is drastically wrong with the scanner. If I plug it in with the car running it won’t connect. But it does light up my traction control light and trouble light. And a bunch of other things like my air conditioning quit working. So I sent an email a couple days ago, no response. Nice case though. Totally useless!!👎

As a DIYer, I’ve been really impressed with the XTool D7 diagnostic scanner. For the price this is a great scanner and bi-directional is the only way to go nowadays. But it only fixed 50% of my suspension adjustment. Meaning I could raise the car but I couldn't get it to lower back down to normal height. So now it's stuck way high.
