Sony HDR-CX450B Handycam with Exmor R CMOS sensor

This is a very good camera, I'am used to filming with very high end broadcast cameras Sony like pmw 400 xdcam costing 10k plus lens or pmw 500 ,fs7 35m so when i say this it good for the money it is ,just love it nice small light great as a back up if needed has high mbps recording which for me is good.. also headphones out mic jack in takes micro sd cards GREAT...

I've had an analogue Sony Video 8 since the mid 90s and am very pleased with it. I decided it was time to upgrade to digital. but I'm disappointed. Yes, the picture quality is vastly better, but Sony have removed so many useful facilities from the digital version, that the camera is not as adaptable as the V8.

Bought this after buying a cannon but found the cannon wifi no good , so Sony , small camcorder a bit small for large hands, its pretty good but what lets this down is the Play memories that you have to download to view pictures first it refuses to view videos!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and if you try and take out the micro sd card then it is blocked by sony so you can only play videos on their web page !!!!!!! wished i bought Panasonic now you can wifi and thats good but it will not download videos to tablets also . it looks good onto tv by HDMI but need now to get a av lead so see if i can download to cd or dvd Pretty poor development of software by sony ADD TO THIS NOW BEEN IN TOUCH WITH SONY SUPPORT AND TELLING ME THAT ITEM SHOULD BE USED IN ENGLAND SAYING SOFTWARE MIGHT NOT WORK IN GREECE WHERE WE LIVE EVEN THOUGH BOUGHT UNIT IN England ON STAR NOW

Seems to be a very good camera for the money. I have not used it much yet but will be soon.

Having returned the Canon Legria R806 due to its lack of sound input (unlike its US equivalent model with sound input!), I bought this Sony CX450 with mic input, only to realise later that its USB only has output and NO input! Yet Sony happily announces on their product guide that non-Europe models do have USB input/output!!! - See Sony's help guide - Model information section. Can Sony explain why Europe is discriminated against??? My advice is: don't ever buy from Canon and Sony, and any other company who discriminate against certain consumers, unless they can explain why. Are the EU bureacrats forcing these manufacturers' hands in creating more product variations with less functions?!

Wanted to get back into my filming after a lot of research I heard that this camera was very similar to the Sony pj series. So I made a decision to purchase it and I have to say for the price I am pleased. Firstly it has a socket for a microphone which is awesome some reviews I read said no but it does! The picture is very good better than expected and zoom really keeps quality along with a long ass zoom which is 60x The touch screen is a good edition aswell as navigating menus etc is done with ease. I would say it's a very good camera for someone starting out and it's cheap. Also I was surprised with how small it actually was... I was like ohhhh really when I opened the box to be met with wow this is pretty good Obivously certain lights effect with motion blur but it pics up colours really well. The normal mic is what you would expect background noise etc but the details it pics up is awesome
