Nice mixer with many options
I recently had to replace my old 6 qt KitchenAid. I was very leery with some of the reviews I'd seen with the new mixers, however, I was pleasantly surprised with effectiveness of the machine. It has a great capacity and is way quieter than my previous KitchenAid. I love the ability to utilize the accessories I already have and the flexibility to add other new ones. The only downside is that there is a slight defect in the enamel paint job on the base, which doesn't impact the functionality, and I can live with it.

Two mixers broken within two-three minutes.
Purchased a KitchenAid 7-quart mixer at the sale price of $549 on day one; died two minutes into mixing batter. I did the recommended troubleshooting process, plugged into other outlets, checked the circuit breaker & kept unplugged for a full day. Still did not work. I called KitchenAid, and they were willing to replace it but would take 6-8 weeks. They then offered to refund my money only after they received the mixer. I opted to return to Amazon as it was brand new. I really wanted a mixer for the holidays, so, on a gamble, I ordered a second mixer at full price, $649. With both, I added the Acurion insurance (Acurion refunded me right away). After dropping off the first mixer at UPS, I discovered that Amazon will not release $$ funds $$ until they receive the mixer. I did not know this when purchasing the second mixer. Now I am $1200 on hold on my credit card. Not only are my funds held, but the return is via UPS Ground, a slow boat. This KitchenAid 7-quart mixer must be a bad batch from the KitchenAid for Amazon. Very tough disappointment! I really hoped that the second one would have worked for me. With a 7-quart mixer, I opted to purchase from Amazon to get insurance, and I hoped the 7-quart would be more powerful for batched bread dough and large amounts of cookie batter. I did end up going to Costco for the smaller size 6-quart KitchenAid Mixer, and so far (two days in) it is working fine.

Buy! Don’t wait
I’ve had this over a year at this point and I’m beyond pleased with my purchase. I love everything about this kitchen aid. From the color to the price, the size the amount of time it saves me making things. It’s easy to clean. I’m a beginner and this so easy to to get started with. The feather pink is such a beautiful color. I’m so obsessed. I get so many compliments on the color alone. Also wanted to mention mine didn’t come in damaged like some reviews I’ve seen. Delivering was also a good experience. I expected the box to have some damage from the size and weight of it and it didn’t. Great job Amazon!

KitchenAid Lifer
I do a lot of baking and I’ve been using the same smaller KitchenAid version for 32 years. I bit the bullet and purchased this 7 quart because after 32 years I wanted to upgrade. I’m so happy I did. This is a tank and I’m sure to have it forever. Happy baking!

Powers through 6 cups of bread dough like nothing and looks great!
My old 325watt 5 quart Kitchenaid has been struggling with kneading bread dough. I've rebuilt it once but it still sometimes would stop and hum. It's still fine for everything else, though loud. We have had it, for, I believe, over 25 years. For Thanksgiving, I made fresh bread (delicious) but had to do all the kneading by hand--this is why old-time bakers all had big muscular arms--it's a workout! The old machine will go to one of our offspring because it still does everything else better than a hand mixer, and probably any other mixer. This machine is 500 watts, and 7 quarts, and comes with the regular beater, squeegee beater for things like cake mixes, a wire whisk, improved pouring shield, and a pig-tail dough hook, a huge improvement on the old flat hook. First time making bread (NEVER go over the #2 speed!) it powered through the dough quietly and only after many, many minutes got a little warm, where the old one couldn't be run for more than 2 minutes at a time (when kneading dough) with a minute or two to cool each time. I didn't even have to do a final hand knead! Despite being bigger and stronger it actually doesn't take up much more real estate than the old one and feels a bit lighter surprisingly, although still very heavy. Lots of little improvements: A nice knob on the lifting jack handle, a better-looking brushed nickel knob on the speed control over the old black plastic one, and 11 speeds rather than ten. The pouring shield is now one piece rather than two and enclosed on top rather than open, and works very well. They even upgraded the power-takeoff locking screw and cover. Finally, they added a cord wrap when not using it. So far, the only drawback is the handsome textured matte black finish: flour gets stuck on it much more easily than on the smooth finish. I do not know if the other colors are the same or smooth, but this was the right color for our kitchen.

Faulty Unit! Not an isolated incident - read the one star reviews before you purchase!
BUYER BEWARE. I purchased this mixer after seeing all the good reviews. KitchenAid has always been a reputable brand, I figured I'd upgrade from my cheapy little $100 mixer to this. First time I used it was to make cookies. Creamed butter like a dream. I used it for maybe 10 minutes tops, but it worked so smoothly. I was in love. Today was the second time I was going to use my mixer. I put together my dough, put it in the bowl, and got ready to knead. Moved it up one notch - to 1/2 speed - it whirred for less than a second... and shut off. Same story as all the other folks here. I tried different outlets. Checked to make sure outlet was okay (tried plugging in other appliances), all was fine there. Unplugged it and left it off for an hour. Tried it again. Nada. Of course, my return period closed two days ago... I'm going to try and get in touch with Kitchen Aid first thing in the morning. Amazon is telling me to get in touch with them, due to the high value of the mixer. Disappointed that they weren't able to do much more to help me, but of course now that return period is closed they can't be bothered to help me...

Heavy duty kitchen appliance
I bought the 7 quart 500 watt professional mixer in March 2025. I wanted an upgrade because the tilt head Kitchenaid i had for many years was failing. Do get I’m loving it. I haven’t used it for heavy duty work since I make mostly bread, and mix it by hand because I don’t like how the dough comes out using a mixer. I just bought a KitchenAid grain mill attachment to mill my own bread flour. After reading recent negative reviews about someone’s 2 new mixers stopping to work after only a few minutes, I’m wondering if my mixer can handle milling flour. The attachment instructions says a 500 watt mixer is powerfully efficient to handle the grain mill attachment. I hope so because it’s beyond time to return the mixer if it stops working.
