Works well
I use it with a Henry vacuum cleaner and Numatic Hepa-Flo bags which stops all dust from contaminating the filter and motor. I purchased a Henry compatible 5 metre flexi hose (approx £12) and cut off the end fitment. This Henry flexi hose is the same diameter as the short connecting hose that came with the sander and so can be connected directly to the sander. A tiny bit of a struggle to attach the hose but once one side is on I could screw it by a turn to give a tight fit. One thing to watch is the suction can be strong making the sander difficult to move even with the adjustable vent on the sander attachment fully open. Luckily my Henry is one of the older models with two suction settings for the motor and I had to set mine to low. The usual way of achieving a lower suction is to have a hole in the connection tube. Vacuum machine manufacturers often include this facility in the rigid tubes (a hole that can be covered for maximum suction). Dust will not come out of the hole because the vacuum cleaner is still sucking in via the sanding attachment AND the hole. The attachment worked extremely well in that it collected all the dust. I’m using to sand down gypsum plasterboard jointing compound (also used as an easy filler) which produces a very fine dust which can migrate to the furthest room in the house. Be aware that sanding with this attachment can be a lot more tiresome than with a with a non-suction hand sander. This is because used flat it can stick to the wall by itself. This disadvantage is offset by near zero dust being distributed around the house. I would recommend getting a 5 metre roll of the mesh sanding material and cutting it to size yourself. It can be cut with a pair of scissors (but not your best pair). Rolls can be obtained in the UK from Amazon and Toolstation etc. Remember that the mesh sanding material is double sided and can be turned over once one side is dull.

Marshalltown tools are the best that money can buy
Marshalltown tools are the best that money can buy. This piece of kit is no exception. I love the vacuum adjuster; it makes a huge difference. I have big hands so a slightly larger handle would have been better for me but for most the handle size will be perfect. I would have preferred the lock nuts to protrude more but then there is the possibility of them catching on your fingers. They are very nicely designed though and very cleverly rounded and of a low profile. The handle is made from the usual high quality material all Marshalltown tools are made of. My tip is to put the abrasive paper at a slight angle; the larger the better. This is to prevent ‘tram-lines’ when sanding off. I also bought a roll of abrasive paper and cut it to size. Marshalltown are a bit ‘tight’; they only provide one sheet. I agree with a previous reviewer though in that this piece of kit gets about 98% of dust; not bad at all and that is why it gets five stars.

A good tool to reduce dust, but sanding mesh is costly.
Works really well when sanding walls with hardly any dust escaping when attached to a decent vacuum. Also holds its self to the wall due to the vacuum and has a handy suction valve to adjust vacuum pressure and 360 degree rotating attachment, the worst thing about this is the cost of the sanding mesh (nothing to do with the tool obviously) just do your research 1st.

Mess free way to sand plaster.
After my attempts to plaster a largish area I needed a sander that was (a) efficient and (b) mess free. This Wallsander met both conditions. When connected, with a little help from a strip of duck tape, to a vacuum cleaner practially all the dust went into the cleaner rather than the air. The sanding sheet did not clog but being a little wider that then sanding plate did tend to tear at the corners when sanding into corners. Not a major problem though and certainly insufficient to make it down. I'm very pleased that I found this product.

Stopped a lot of dust
Had to sand a ceiling after removal of polystyrene tiles. This is hard work but was reluctant to use a powered sander due to incredible dust storm it creates. This attached very well to my little Henry and this reduced the dust dramatically. As I said ceilings are graft so this might be the perfect solution for an easier to do wall. All in all I would recommend.
