A Decently Hot, Flavorful Tabasco. Definitely Worth Trying
I’ve been using the Tabasco Scorpion sauce for years, and I have to say, it delivers. It's fairly hot to me, so if you're sensitive to heat and think regular Tabasco is spicy, you'll want to take it slow. But the great thing is that it still has a solid flavor, unlike some super-hot sauces that just taste like pure pain. There's a little bit of a fruity note in there that keeps it interesting. The bottle is the standard 5-ounce size, and honestly, you don't need much. A drop or two is usually enough to spice up an entire dish, so it will last you a while. I’ve been putting it on eggs, tacos, pizza, spaghetti, and just about everything else. If you are a fan of Tabasco and want to step up the heat level significantly, this is the one. Great buy, no complaints.

Delicious hot sauce must try if you like hot
Wow that’s some perfect heat if you LOVE hot and flavor is outstanding. Best overall hot sauce I think I’ve ever had. I’m not a big fan or original tobacco, this is not that at all. As for price, it’s hard to say I used a bunch on day 1 so this could get dangerous

Incredible, but only for certain dishes IMHO
Five star rating, though I'm probably never buying this sauce again, even if it's still available a year from now. Bought four bottles a couple weeks back. As a Tabasco Habanero addict (like five 1-gallon jugs in the last five years for me alone), I do like my heat. And I adore my Tabasco. It's just the laws of physics that get in the way. The McIlhenny folks are supremely skilled, devoted, and brave -- they're actually devoted public servants as well as culinary artists of the highest degree. They looked at the burgeoning hot sauce landscape like 5-10 years ago, and challenged themselves: they asked the question, "could we do a truly great super-hot sauce?" And they decided, brilliantly, on a totally Jamaican flavor profile. They passed over the simplistic carroty/tomatoey Habanero sauce formulas, and went straight for the complex exquisiteness of Caribbean style. This means scorching heat from painstakingly bred super-hot peppers, astoundingly married to their polar opposites. The Tabasco Habanero is many times spicier than the century-old Tabaso Lousiana-style, but it is tempered with the coolest tropical fruits imaginable. Banana. Guava. Papaya. That sauce is a masterpiece: the first truly unadulteredly American hot sauce with a classically American melting pot of foreign influences. I will buy more gallons, and continue putting it on everything from steak to hot dogs to spaghetti. But the ingenious (yet kind) folks at McIlhenny are never satisfied with mere perfection: they always want to move forward, especially as American tastes evolve. Which brings us to the exciting new territory beyond Habaneros, such as the Scorpion pepper. Yet the problem is unsolvable. It's basic math. Chemistry. Physics. As you make sauces from hotter and hotter new cultivars of peppers, people are obviously going to use less of it to get their preferred heat. The inspirations for the wonderful Scorpion Sauce are clear: beloved old Jamaican entries like Pick-A-Pepper (with its Bird Peppers). But the problem is clear: when you use less sauce, it means you can't taste the other ingredients as well. Tabasco Scorpion is a skillful balance of pineapple and guava with deliciously hot Scorpion peppers. Simply superb. But where I, personally, can enjoy a tablespoon of Tabasco Habanero per dinner, I can only stomach about a teaspoon of Scorpion (before violent internal revolution takes place). I get the heat all right, but without nearly as much of that awesome tropical breezy counterpoint. I think Tabasco Scorpion is a great replacement for my Pure Cap One Miilion Scoville extract when it comes to certain foods like tuna or curry, where I don't want much fruity flavor intruding beyond the sheer inferno. But for most super-hot dishes I think I will stay with the Tabasco Habanero, where I can have the maximum cold/hot dynamic going for me. Love McIlhenny. Love Tabasco. But despite my five-star rating, the Scorpion is a little too far for me to venture much.

Not your typical grocery store sauce, world class flavor and spice!
Completely changed the wat that I look at Tabasco brand. This is a serious hot sauce, packed with flavor and a long slow burn. I wouldn't have tried it if it weren't for reviews from those that I trust. Not a sauce for noob's, probably too hot, but not a "super hot" so for those of us used to heat, the flavor and spice deliver in a very pleasant way. A+

Not Your Typical Tabasco Sauce!
This one was much hotter than I expected. It's nothing like regular Tabasco sauce. This one packs real heat that will ignite your palate! It also has good flavor. I'm glad I ordered this.

Very hot, very good
It's not insane, but it's hotter than the original Tabasco by far. It also is very different than the original. It doesn't have that pronounced vinegar aspect, and it's very slightly smokey. Excellent on things like pasta with tomato-based sauce and salad dressing for extra punch and a flavor accent. This is a nice-sized bottle, and a good value.

Very pleased
Fantastic. Plenty of heat without an overpowering flavor. Just what I was looking for. 👍

Just the right heat
The perfect heat - just enough to burn and sweat a little - not like those “atomic” sauces. But yet very good and much hotter than original Tobasco). Use a bottle a week.

This is by far the spiciest Tabasco I’ve ever tried! The Scorpion Sauce definitely delivers intense heat, but what surprised me most is how flavorful it is. It’s not just burning spice it has a rich taste that makes food so much better. I add just a few drops to my meals and it completely transforms them. Perfect for anyone who loves extreme spice but still wants great flavor. Be careful though a little goes a long way!

Yeah... this ain’t your everyday grandma’s Tabasco bottle. ::Taste:: Super pepper-forward with a hint of sweetness and a touch of complexity. Unlike the classic Tabasco, it doesn’t lean hard on the vinegar, just enough to keep it shelf-stable, I’d guess. The flavor is actually really enjoyable. I could see this working great with steak, chicken, eggs... honestly, it feels like a solid all-around hot sauce. ::Heat:: I’d give it an 7/10. It’s hot! I’d guess close to 100k SHU. The burn hits mostly the front and back of the mouth, not so much the throat, so it’s intense but not unbearable. Doesn’t trigger fight-or-flight, but it definitely gets your attention. The heat doesn’t linger too long either, which weirdly makes you want more. So you add more. ::Caution:: Just don’t do what I did and start with a full tablespoon thinking, "Pff, it's just Tabasco. How hot can it be?" Start slow, find your sweet spot. Highly recommended for heat lovers looking for something with great real kick and flavor.
