Lecho Front Glass Bezel Replacement for iMac 21.5 Inch A1311 Year 2009 2010 2011

Oh my goodness I wish I could give this more than 5 stars. My kids tipped my iMac over on the desk and it landed on a ceramic plate and shattered the screen. It is a mid 2011 so it’s pretty old and I immediately freaked out because I thought replacement glass would be more expensive than the whole unit was worth. (Considering an iPhone screen replacement is easily $100+) But then I searched on YouTube how to replace it and found this listing on amazon. I thought $40 it’s worth a shot. It arrived well packaged in styrofoam, no cracks or chips. The whole installation took less than 5 minutes including removing the old shattered glass which took the majority of the 5 minutes. It was so easy to use my fingernails and a credit card to loosen the old glass, and then the new glass just lines up with metal brackets and snaps into place with magnets. So easy, looks brand new. I highly recommend this product!! I wish I would have gotten a picture of the cracked glass before I took it off but you get the idea.

This Lecho replacement glass is a perfect fit for 2011 iMac. Installation tips: 1. The iMac glass is held in place by metal tabs across the bottom edge and metal strips along the top edge. The magnets on the iMac chassis pull against the metal strips to hold the glass in place. The metal reinforcement frame of the Lecho glass has an unusually strong pull against the magnets on the iMac so be careful once the top edge of the glass is within 1-2 inches of the iMac because the magnets will snap the glass against the iMac frame with high force. I could not remove this glass without using suction cups. 2. If you install the glass and notice that the bottom edge is not flush with the iMac metal chassis near the Apple logo, then this means that the locating pin on the back of the glass is not aligned perfectly with the corresponding notch on the iMac chassis (located at about the mid-point along the lower edge of the glass.) If this happens after first installation, you'll need to pull the glass away and shift the lower edge left or right slightly so that the pin engages the notch fully. A properly installed glass will be flush with the iMac chassis on all four sides and without any gaps between the glass and chassis. I'm very pleased with the exact fit of the Lecho glass. I orginally tried the Willhom glass (also from Amazon) but the rounded corners of that glass did not match perfectly with the iMac chassis corners. The Lecho glass is just a few dollars more but it's worth it for the exact fit like the original iMac factory glass. Very pleased!

I purchased a 2011 Mac recently for $200 that worked well, except the seller had cracked the screen. After watching a YouTube video, I realized the replacement would be easy so I found this replacement screen on Amazon. Was a little concerned at some of the reviews about how the screen fit, but chose to give it a try anyway, and I am glad that I did. Once I aligned it with the base of the computer and the camera at the top, the replacement snapped into place perfectly and I am very pleased. Only took a couple minutes to take the old one off and put this new one on. I highly recommend this product.

Item was received in a cardboard box, in about 1 inch of thick foam, all the way around. The glass on BOTH sides was sealed with a protective plastic film, to prevent dust or dirt from getting on it. The glass itself is not OEM, however is more than good enough. Here are some things to note: - Slightly thicker than original glass - Not perfectly flush around all sides, especially the left side....not really an issue though. - Glass is free of imperfections and perfectly clear. - Webcam lines up perfect - Alignment pegs are of good quality and also line up well. - Lays perfectly flat against body of iMac. Should seal well and not let dust in. - Does not flex....glass is very sturdy. Overall, I'm very happy with this glass, because I now have my 2009 iMac back in service.

Quick and easy replacement for my cracked glass on my 21.5" screen. Took less than 30 seconds, and came well packaged with cling wrap on both sides of the glass, so there were no issues with fingerprints. You can use suction cups to pull off the old screen, but I used two butter knifes, inserted along the top about 2" from each side, and it popped right off. Glass has no imperfections, no sizing issues, and looks stock.

My biggest hesitation when I ordered this screen was that some reviewers mentioned the glass wasn't exactly a perfect fit around the edges of the computer. For the price I thought it was worth a shot. Mine arrives beautifully packed and flawlessly new. Sure enough, mine fit without a single issue on my 2011 iMac. Now my computer looks brand new and you can't tell the glass isn't factory. Perhaps the factory has worked out the issues since those reviews. Either way, based on my experience, I would highly recommend this glass.

I would like to start this review by saying "you had one Job". I Purchased 2 replacement front glasses for my 21.5 INCH NOT 27 INCH, iMac A1311. I made sure that the specifications were correct and was identified as a 21.5 inch glass. As you can see in the pictures I received 2 x 27INCH not 21 .5 INCH like was identified. As you can see clearly in the photos the items sent will not fit on our screen. Obviously someone did not measure theses glasses because they are marked (as seen in the photos) as 21.5 inch but they are clearly not.

Had a customer with a broken faceplate and they didn't want to pay for an original replacement so they were looking at used. Found this and it fit 99.99 % perfectly - about 1/32" overhang on one side, very minor. Quality is exactly like the original, happy customer.

It arrived in one day. Fits perfectly. I think it has a couple specs of dirt but could be from the air while attaching it. I am hesitant to take it off to clean. Just happy it was SUPER EASY to take off the cracked one and pop it in place. Why can't cracked cell phone screens be this easy to replace!!
