Surefire EP4 Sonic Ear Defenders

I was looking for a good set of ear defence for use on shooting ranges, and the Surefire EP4 Sonic Ear Defenders (Pair) looked like a good alternative to the bulky over head ear defence I had commonly used (British army issue). I ordered a set of Sure Fire ear defence in hopes of a comfortable ear defence that I didn't have to keep removing. When I opened the parcel the Surefire EP4 Sonic Ear Defenders were well packaged, packed with a cardboard backing with all the product info, where the defenders themselves were packed in their plastic protective carry case along with the lanyard. The carry case is very sturdy and compact, with a chain to attach the case to something. The ear defenders were very flexible an seem to hold their shape very well even after being squashed in their case etc. Closing the covers on the ear defence was very fidgety and would require a bit of patience to get this done, definitely not something that can be done on the fly, The fit on these were great for me, I spent some time sizing my ears before I went and purchased, but the sizing chart is not too convincing, read the rest of the reviews to see what I mean, lots of people have commented that they come in a bit smaller than advertised, although I seemed to be lucky. The actual in ear component of the ear defence can be adjusted for a better seal inside the ear which is a good feature, and the 'locking arm' on the external component does a great job at keeping them secure and in place. Although I've not had a chance to use these on the shooting ranges yet, I made use of them when working with power tools last weekend, mostly an electric hedge trimmer which operated at around 110 Decibels. I used these trimmers for about 3 hours with the ear defence in place, at no time did they feel loose or uncomfortable in my ears and after removing them I had no ringing in my ears like I usually do. I hope to use these on the shooting range soon, if they don't hold up well I will come back and edit my review. Unitll then, I would definitely recommend these. EDIT I have now used these on several occasions and my 5 star review still stands, they provide excellent protection while still allowing for some awareness around you compared to the over ear style ear defence. the lanyard can sometimes be fidgety but all in all a great set of ear defence with minimal bulk.

Fantastic product, picked these up to replace a pair of plugs I was using for riding my motorbike that were OK. The first couple of times, placing them in the ear was a bit awkward but you soon get the hang of it, once in they are extremely comfy, to the point that I forget that I'm wearing them. The noise reduction with the caps out is great, whilst riding they shut out most of the wind noise excessive engine noise etc, but I can hear ambient sounds really well. Have only tried them with caps in at home as I've not need them on the bike but they seem great blocking most everything you don't want and damping everything else, with the caps out, unwanted sounds were blocked but speech was crystal clear. All in all very good plug if you ride, I probably won't use anything else for a while

Plastic plugs make no difference to the ability to hear ambient sound. Fit fine but, in my opinion, not as well as the EP3s. They will do the job and save your hearing.

Excellent quality, I brought a set of these a few years back but I've moved house and so I brought a set again I got these for when I go on nights out. I am hypersensitive to sounds so I can get overwhelmed. I have noticed that when I wear these I experience much clearer and much better sound quality compared to everyone around me. Everything just sounds super clear and music sounds great rather than super loud and distorted. I can also hear everyone around me that speaks to me and I end up realising that when I reply to them they can't hear me because I forget that I can hear them perfectly but for them to hear me I have to shout up - which proves that these really do work! I have small ears and so most in ear ear defenders fall out or really hurt. These fit great and due to their design they DO NOT fall out and feel secure in my ears because of how the design specially copies the shape of the ear. They're also quite descreat and so most people don't even see them until I show them or they come really close to me. They're definitely worth the investment.

These work well in general. They take a bit to get comfortable but so work. Not great value for money. For me I Would estimate 75% reduced noise. Would not buy again to be honest as would want a higher noise reduction

Now, these are issued to the british military so must be good right. I use these for general range use and they are good providing you get a snug fit in your ear. I tend to now use them in ear but under a set of over ear protection just to give that bit extra. Ideal as a second set in your range bag, Ive turned up on the point without ear pro before!

I bought these for shooting. They are effective and do the job. They do however need to be fitted properly and occasionally be a bit fiddly to get this right. I did not use the simple plugs to drown out all sound, so found them good for hearing conversation with effective protection while firing. They come in a handy box with a plastic cable that goes round the neck so that they are not lost when removed from the ear. These would be my preferred ear-defenders, but if I am in a hurry and need to apply quickly, I may use my other ones.

il meglio se si vogliono dei tappi da lavoro che vanno indossati spesso. calzano molto bene nell’orecchio e sono eccezionali contro i rumori forti, se si vuole ascoltare il collega o una qualsiasi cosa, basta aprire il tappino rosso e il rumore passa (sempre e comunque attutito). costosi ma eseguono il loro egregiamente. [se siete militari ve li consiglio siccome se prendete il cavo che si adatta alla prr con l’uscita non in cuffia ma con l’auricolare, questi sono compatibili, un filo scomodo sull’orecchio che usate per ascoltare le comunicazioni siccome vi esce un filo fuori dal padiglione auricolare siccome il cavo vi tira il tappo verso il basso, ma nulla di preoccupante, comunque una alternativa consigliata a quella cuffiettina schifosa della naja]

En verdad aislan de la contaminación sonora que existe en las calles. Principalmente la gentuza que va en el transporte público molestando a los demás con sus celulares, este producto aisla totalmente de ellos.

So, nach aufmerksamem Durchlesen einiger vorangegangenen Rezensionen, muss ich nun doch mal meinen Senf dazugeben. Ich arbeite als Maschinenführer in einer etwas betagteren Papierfabrik, habe vor Ort eine geringfügig höhere Durchschnittstemperatur (40°C+), Luftfeuchtigkeit ( 70% aufwärts) und Lärmbelastung (ca.120 dB) als der normale Arbeitnehmer. Von Haus aus gibt es bei uns die schon oft erwähnten "etwas billigeren" aber ebenso funktionserfüllenden gelben Schaumstoff-Stöpsel... Die mag nehmen wer will, aber wer 8 Stunden Dauerbelastung und Endlos-Sauna vor sich bzw. hinter sich hat und regelmäßig Schweiß im Innenohr hat, der wird sich sehr schnell nach einer anderen Lösung in Sachen Gehörschutz umschauen (zumal wenn die Alternative heist, sich die blauen oder gelben Mickey-Maus-Kopfhörer aufsetzen zu müssen!). So bin ich vor einem knappen halben Jahr auf diesen Gehörschutz gestoßen und muss sagen: TOP! Tragekomfort: Kein Vergleich zur deutlich billigeren gelben Schaumstoffkonkurrenz oder den großen Over-Ear-Kopfhörern. Kein ekelhaftes Schweiß ansammeln mehr im Innenohr dank der Lamellen und auch kein zu tiefes Einführen des Gehörschutzes aufgrund des oft belächelten Silikonbügels (denn genau dafür ist der da!!!). Funktionalität: Ich trage die Stöpsel nur mit geschlossenem Kanal aufgrund der Permanentbelastung. Alle lauten Geräusche - egal ob tiefe oder hohe Tonlage - werden auf ein angenehmes Maß reduziert und trotzdem kann ich mit meinen Arbeitskollegen eine normale Unterhaltung führen ohne Abends die Stimmbänder neu justieren zu müssen. Reinigung: Ein ungern angesprochenes Thema, das viele damit Gefriemel verbinden - also nach der Arbeit mit Wattestäbchen bewaffnet die Lammelen einzeln säubern. Hab ich am Anfang auch gemacht und bin dann durch nen dummen Zufall auf eine angenehmere Art und Weise der Reinigung gestoßen. Hatte den Gehörschutz in der Seitentasche meiner Arbeitshose vergessen und selbige wasch ich mit 60°C. Blitzeblank mehr sag ich dazu nicht! Haltbarkeit: Hätte ich meine Stöpsel letzte Woche nicht verloren hätte ich immernoch Freude daran! Ob ich sie nochmal bestellen würde? Hab ich gerade getan... Ich hoffe ich konnte dem einen oder anderen weiterhelfen, in diesem Sinne fröhliches Weitershoppen / Recherchieren
