This is Small Extra (B2) Pure Bristle Medium Size

Does the product come brand new in a box with plastic wrap sealing, just as packaged in fine department stores?

Not guaranteed. The first one I ordered was a pink one, and it was clean, don't remember if it was sealed in plastic wrap. The second time I ordered a baby blue one, it came with hair in it, I returned it.

Can I use this brush to blow dry my hair

I've had the same one for 20 years, and it's fine after years of hair drying. My mother has multiples... She has used them, when blow drying her hair, DAILY, for 35+years! They have minimal problem. My only suggestion would be to make sure you don't place them directly under the hairdryer in a manner in which the bristles could directly touch the elements. You'll melt or warp the clear bristles. (A school friend borrowed one of our brushes, and accidentally did this). This is more for a quick brush out while using a hair dryer, NOT for close heat styling with a dryer.

I’d buy it again; my favorite beauty tool

I read many reviews before I bought. Yes it is a lot of money ,but if you were to go to a salon for a treatment you could easily spend that kind of money. This brush will give you daily treatment for years. The very first time I used it, I saw the value. My hair oils were being transferred to the ends of my long hair. I love it. The only trick is knowing which version of the brush to buy. Lucky for me I made the right choice. I think there needs to be some kind of chart to help identify which one is right for your needs.

Arrived with hair in it

Amazing brush—after I pulled someone else’s three hairs from it and cleaned it. For the price, and given the excellent reputation of the manufacturer, the distributor could’ve done a much better job of packaging this brush so the unboxing wasn’t so incredibly disappointing. If we make an investment on a product, we should at least feel good about opening it. Hopefully I can stop thinking of as a used product. Again, had a brush like this years ago and it really is amazing.

It really is a great brush

I debated buying one of these for years - on the one hand they're a legend, on the other hand, can a brush really be worth this price? The verdict? It's a great brush. It is incredibly gentle on my long, baby-fine hair and does leave it smooth and shiny. I can't really say if it is or isn't worth the price, but I guess I'd say, it truly is a much better brush than any less expensive version I've tried, including other boar-bristle brushes.

Best present ever!

Everyone in my family is obsessed with Mason Pearson hair brushes. They last for about 15 years (depending on use) and they’re the easiest, albeit expensive, gift to give!
