Purchase this for a gift for my husband who does a lot of art, leather and designing products it did not last long

I’m just now learning how to engrave and this pen seems to work well. I’m struggling to keep a steady hand but I think that’s more of a me problem. The pen is easy to use and the speed seems good. I highly suggest.

Update: I left it plugged in and charging overnight and it is still only charged to the fifth light. As I said below, there are six charging lights and this will only charge to the point of four solid lights with the fifth one flashing. It never gets to the sixth light at all. Otherwise it seems to work OK. ----- I got one of these and followed the instructions to charge it fully before use. It appears to have six lights that indicate charge. it will charge up to four solid lights with the fifth one flashing, and never charge any further. I returned that one and had Amazon replace it, and the second one does the same thing, so I guess that's just how they are. The included instructions say that the lights should turn off when they are finished charging, but they don't. They just sit there with four lights lit and the fifth one flashing, until you give up after a few hours and unplug the charger cable. I'll keep the second one because otherwise they work fine, but don't expect them to charge as outlined in the instructions. I don't know how long a charge will last yet.

I haven't had a chance to complete a project with my new "birthday" present.....but it feels like an easy to use tool when I recently practiced how to use it. Lots of options....a variety of bits.....so I'm sure it'll be a good tool to use as I continue to pursue my wood carving hobby.

I bought this to drill small holes through thin layers of PLA plastic on my 3D prints and it fails miserably! Though it came with an assortment of find detailing bits, I can tell you that it can barely even handle that that as well. This is rated to function at 3 different speeds from 5k to 25k revolutions per minute. Compared to other models found on Amazon, this sounds like it would function better than those seen of similar size. However, the moment it makes contact with what your working on, it suffers greatly with making any significant impact at all and frequently comes to a halt when making contact. This is severely under powered, an incredibly weak device. As they say, you get what you paid for. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Great Item, only concern is the bits are inexpensively made. Easy to operate and charge. Would recommend and purchase again.
