Great watch, beware the titanium band. Terrible Garmin support.
The watch itself is great though it is expensive. I use it principally to track my sleep and exercise. It functions well and syncs data to the Garmin app easily and without any issue. Data can also be viewed on the Garmin website. However, I bought the version with the titanium wrist band. I had a link failure and nearly lost the watch as it fell from my wrist. The rubber link between the titanium links had failed. Assuming this was just a one off issue, I replaced the link. A few weeks later the same issue. I see from online forums that this is not uncommon. I have raised this with Garmin support, who have been terrible. 7 day turn around time for emails, which means that the too and fro had taken nearly a month. Garmin support have been evasive and unwilling to take any responsibility for the failure (or for that matter even to investigate it). So in summary, great watch, don't but the titanium strap and don't expect any level of support of things so wrong,.

There are a LOT of full feature reviews below so I won't bother but I will say that as an upgrade from my old 405, this does the trick. As wearables go, it is a full-featured offering that is rugged and attractive enough to wear daily. The band is comfortable and the unit is deceptively light. The battery life so far is amazing. I've worn it for full days of backcountry skiing and downhill so far and on a full charge, tracking all day, I barely cracked 75% on the battery so I know that it will be good for multi day adventures, unlike my Garmin handheld or my old 405. In the daily wear department, the battery seems to consume about 10% per day so charging every day isn't a concern. The telemetry so far seems very accurate and it's pretty easy to customize to see only what you want to see. The variety of faces and data displayed is insanely diverse. I can't wait to sync it up with my road bike sensors and get in a ride. I think it will also be great for my mountain biking adventures too. The GPS antennae (both GPS and GLONASS) are quick to get a fix in mixed terrain and the combination of barometric and GPS-driven altimeters have been spot-on in known-altitude locations. Even if the $1500 price tag isn't in your range, the guts and firmware, I'm told are the same as some of the other Fenix models so if you want the same feature set but are put off by price, you might consider one of them.
