Review: Authentic Kaya - I am a Malaysian, and Kaya is a jam, that is incredibly famous in South East Asian region (and in Malaysia). I have eaten various types of kaya for the past 30 years, and I can identify the authenticity of kaya as soon as I taste and smell them. This product is an authentic kaya, without any additives, or colour/preservatives. I have tried a few different kaya spread in London for the past few years, and none has come close to the one that I've tried in Malaysia, and this specific product reminds me of the similar taste, texture and smell of the one made locally in Malaysia. It is interesting to note that after opening, the manufacturer recommmends that users finish the product in one month, and keep it refrigerated. This again proves the authenticity of the product, because usually real kaya doesn't last beyond a month. In summary, this is a delightful product and I'm glad to get something that is so rare to obtain outside Malaysia :) Review: Great! - Soooo delicious. Have with butter on toast it’s the best and super tasty. Lasted about a month in the fridge :)

Authentic, like home!
As a Malaysian I'd say this is quite authentic! However it might be a little 'light' and faint to those who are used to very sweet Kaya. Obviously my parents weren't keen on sweet stuff so this is the taste I grew up knowing. With the quality tho - I've ordered twice and the second order came smashed. It will show as not eligible for refund / return but I called Amazon and they issued a refund which I then used to reorder. The '3rd' bottle came perfect. If you're into homemade ones I'd recommend joining the fb group 'Malaysian Food in United Kingdom' on which you can order from Malaysians in the UK (and a lot more like find malaysian food near you with reviews!)

Delish!
It’s my first time to try this kaya jam and I’m glad I bought this. It’s sweet but not overly sweet and has subtle coconuty flavour to it. The texture is smooth and the jam was full to the top. I can see myself repurchasing this.

Jar was open not sure what to think
The lid was open so I am not totally sure if it safe to eat although it looks fine inside I guess. Haven’t tried it before so not sure how it’s supposed to taste either.

Two of these items ordered. One in perfect condition but other on completely inedible.
Very disappointed with the quality of this spoiled item. Usual high standard I have been enjoying for a while, not been met this time.

Very sweet but pretty good Kaya
A little sweeter than some Kaya, but it’s a nice thickness and more traditional style than some of the cheaper bright green ones on offer. Hard to get hold of in UK, would but this again.

Excellent coconut jam. Not too sweet & thick. Spread very well on my toast. I used to be able to purchase them from Asian market but hadn’t seen them on shelves lately.

2 out of 3 jars had ruptured safety seals ("Do not accept if button pops up"). One jar (see photo) had a little kaya oozing out and visible black and white/fuzzy growth (you can see the black mold to the left of the nutrition label, and the white/fuzzy growth is in the area behind the top of the nutrition label).

The jar's safety top was popped up upon arrival so it wasn't safe to eat. The packaging seemed fine, however the jar top was dented. And you're not able to return it or get a refund since it is food.
