DRSBX1 Replacement Camera Battery for Sony NP-BX1

We bought this Duracell NP-BX1 battery as a spare for our son's Sony Cybershot DSC HX90 Compact Digital Camera as it might be a slightly superior in build to an even cheaper generic battery, and the Duracell could have better protection against overheating, better performance in cold temperatures, etc. (assuming I didn't get a fake Duracell battery - so I ordered direct from Amazon to minimise that risk). Unlike the Sony original NP-BX1 there was no hologram on the Duracell battery, although it came in the proper Duracell blister pack. I paid £15 for this Duracell battery and it fitted perfectly into our Sony HX90 compact camera (not tight at all), and it has identical electrical contacts. This Duracell battery is only 950mAh though and not 1240mAh like the Sony, so it will only last around 75% of shots powered by the Sony battery - but at £15 compared to £39 for the Sony version I'm not that worried. The Duracell is just to give the camera a few extra shots should the main one run out during the day, so it's no problem for us as my son's generally not that snap happy. Plus the Duracell has the 3 year warranty. The Duracell code for this battery is DRSBX1 (950mAh, 3.7V/3.5Wh replaces NP-BX1). So 5* for the price we paid. Battery works fine in the camera, given the lower power storage rating.

Great battery and cheap, went for Duracell as a know make, used it in my camera took over 160 photos and videos normally battery would be dead but this still fully charged. Should have got one sooner than the original Sony.

I bought two of these Duracell batteries from Amazon for my Sony RX100M6. The packaging states that the battery "replaces Sony NP-BX1". I charged the batteries with a genuine battery charger produced by Sony, BC TRX. Two points worth noting: (1) The Duracell battery needs to be inserted into the charger the opposite way to Sony's own battery, Sony NP-BX1 - X type. The Sony battery has an arrow marked and it needs to be inserted this side up. The Duracell needs to be inserted the product details side up (with the arrow on the reverse side). In both cases the contact points are inserted into the charger. (2) Similarly, in inserting the battery into the camera, the Duracell goes in the opposite way to the Sony. For the Duracell, the arrow remains on the reverse side (in Sony it is on the front), and the other arrow on the side of the battery is at the bottom (not at the top as with the Sony) - with the camera's lens facing to the left. The Duracell batteries charged up successfully.

I bought this as an additional battery for the almighty Sony FDR-X3000 action camera. Firstly, it fits in the camera fine and lasts a descent amount of time (spent 3 hours on a boat and it went down to about 60%). Most importantly for me, despite it being slightly lower mAh than the Sony battery, this Duracell holds its charge even when not being used. I have found that the Sony battery does not hold its charge. To test I left the X3000 off with the Duracell battery in for several days having been fully charged. It switched on no problem still with its full charge. The Sony battery did not. Despite being a third of the cost of the Sony battery this Duracell is now the primary battery for my camera and the Sony is backup. Says it all! Would highly recommend and I am planning on buying another.

I used this product for my Sony camera and Duracell have a good reputation for reliable batteries. Much cheaper than Sony battery and does the same job.

Fits the RX100 perfectly. An excellent alternative to the overpriced Sony battery. Cannot comment on how it lasts because I have not used it extensively yet, but considering it's a Duracell it should be very close to the original.
