Strengthen and Restore Shampoo Jamaican Black Castor Oil for Damaged Hair Sulfate-Free 24 Fl oz

This is a must have. The product is soft and smells great. It is very effective and makes one hair feels moist.

It is not like other shea moisture shampoo, it is different. It makes hair soft, less hairfall and feels very healthy.

I am a male and my hair is African American freeform dreads. I've tried Cantu and a few other shampoos and this is by-far my favorite for my dreads. My dreads are 4 to 5 inches in length and it takes about two quarter sized drops to clean them. It smells good. It does clean very well. It washes out easy. It softens my hair and moisturizes my scalp but I wouldn't describe my hair as moisturized afterwards. My hair feels very dry and clean. I actually prefer that. I find that I'm more prone to dandruff when I condition moisturized hair. That's the shampoo. Keep reading for my shampooing, conditioning, and moisturizing routine. I've been doing this for three months with no dandruff. So onto conditioning. I towel dry my hair and then I use Shea Moisture Strengthen and Restore leave-in conditioner and I just leave that in. I wash my dreads about twice a month. Every other time I retwist with Shea Moisture Braid butter. I'll let the leave-in conditioner stay on my head all day at work or overnight while I sleep and then I apply the braid butter and retwist one dread at a time. I sleep every night with a durag. If I retwist and immediately go to bed, the Braid butter will leave me with dandruff the next morning. It needs a few hours to dry out on it's own. I moisturize once or twice a day with the Shea Moisture Hibiscus and Coconut Moisture Spray. I can apply this and go straight to bed without dandruff.

This stuff has worked wonders for my hair. I've been using it for a little over a year and my hair (dark, straight, very dense,) is long, silky, buoyant and full of volume. I used to struggle with dryness and breakage, but this combined with better hair care and protective practices have turned that around for me. It also takes four or five days before my hair starts looking greasy after I wash, compared to one or two for most big name products. My hair care practices: - Shampoo just the roots, take extra time and product to get into the roots - Rinse - Heap conditioner all throughout roots and hair - Leave on for a few minutes or rinse, then follow up with a hair mask I can rinse off later - Use a boar's hair brush once or twice a day, working from the roots down - Detangle with fingers only, being careful not to yank hair - Sleeping with smoother pillowcases (I use bamboo viscose) - Sleeping with hair in a ponytail, bun or braid - No hot air or heat irons - Pat dry with a towel, gently twist up or wear down until dry (sometimes I put it up before it dries, but I probably shouldn't) - When I put my hair up, I use a large claw or a satin ponytail holder, sometimes bobby pins - I have a few blonde streaks that do seem to break a bit more easily, but they almost match the healthiness of the untreated hair - a far cry from how frazzled the blonde would get in previous periods of my life. I'm still having issues with scalp flakiness and itchiness if I don't wash my hair for a few days, but this has been an awesome transformation for me so far. The ingredients are all neutral to super healthy for you. There were only a couple I had questions about: - Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein Pg-Propyl Silanetriol. Couldn't find a lot of information about this one, but no indication so far it causes any problems. - Fragrance: This is a catch-all label for lots of ingredients that carry a smell, which means we don't have any information about if the stuff in this scent might be potentially harmful. Overall, I'm not a big fan of including fragrance just to add smell - if it smells nice on its own, that's a different conversation, but it sometimes does harm to include it. Other than that, I'm really happy with and trust what's going on my hair from this product.

I LOVE this shampoo. I found it when I had dreadlocks and was trying to find something better for my scalp and hair that would work with locs without the price of the "dreadlock shampoo" empires. It smells really good. It doesn't take much to use. Very long lasting and everyone in our family can use it. It has natural oils that leave hair soft, scalp moisturized and cooled from any itchiness or irritation and is overall better to avoid all the crap additives in shampoos and all. I personally would use a lil bit in a half gallon jug with water when i had locs in and use that to saturate and dilute it for washing. But when I had my locs out, I have fine type 2B hair and I don't find it is too oily or anything. Once you stop using garbage shampoos and begin using better products that actually care for your scalp and hair and use it for a bit you'll notice a huge difference. I highly recommend this product. The only reason I removed a star was because it came to us damaged, so that is more for Amazon than the actual product. The top of it was snapped off, and it wasn't even in the box, so they literally packaged it with it already broken and it leaked everywhere. I'd recommend getting the smaller container and not deal with the pump mechanic.

Great clarify shampoo. My scalp becomes so clean without stripping my strands. Smells great to.

This works so well with my 4c low porosity hair. I'm so glad I decided to try it. Will definitely continue to buy.

Wow, what a great product! The scent is absolutely beautiful, and my hair stayed soft, luscious, and hydrated for days after the very first wash. I also noticed a visible reduction in psoriasis along my hairline, which was a fantastic surprise. I recently tried another Shea Moisture product after a recommendation from my cousin (we have similar curly, afro-textured hair) and I loved it, so I felt quite confident trying this shampoo and conditioner combo... and I wasn’t disappointed. It’s definitely high quality and now a new staple in my routine.

I use it as a hair oil remover before my main shampoo and it is the best quality.

A really great hair product, has really grown and strengthen my hair and the results lasts for up to a week "if" ur lazy to shower. Also prevents much damage to hair when using flat iron or curlers etc and it smells goood.
