Relief foot pain
Was advised to get some 3/4 length insoles by an orthopaedic specialist to improve my gait and combat my fallen arches. I fitted them straight into my size 12 walking boots and have just completed over 6000 steps with them and they are great.

Great as far as they go but some issues
Treatment for tarsal tunnel syndrome. You get what you pay for and these are no substitute for the more expensive Slimflex Simple 3/4 Length Insoles - High Density ( Hard ) orthotic insoles provided by my podiatrist. These are not as deep and after a few days use are showing some signs of material compression. The Slimflex ones look more or less the same as they did 18 months ago and are in constant daily use. Plus the covering on these, whilst intended to aid comfort, will rot quicker than the the insole itself and potentially be a hygiene issue. That said, they serve the precise purpose I bought them for. Not being as deep they fit into footwear that I can't use the Slimflex insoles in - espadrilles and flat trainers - and provide some relief for my foot condition. Always get proper medical advice when using medical devices, which is what these are, or you could make your condition worse not better, and these are not for people who do not have the conditions they are supposed to treat as they do alter your gait. On the one hand I'm pleased to have some relief in lower profile shoes. On the other hand I would not expect signs of wear after a couple of days so quality and durability are in question. Added: for those who have problems with these, please do get a referral to an NHS podiatrist, who will carry out tests and prescribe you a precisely fitting insole for your condition and foot shape. They will also answer concerns about discomfort using this type of insole. In my experience after years of being passed by GPs to the wrong specialists, a nurse referred me to a podiatrist, who identified the problem and solved it in 20 minutes. If you are self-prescribing, or following non-specialist GP advice, it is pretty much pot luck if this works for you. 6 month update... despite initial concerns about quality and durability, these have lasted the course with regular use - several days a week. Still not in the same bracket as the Slimflex insoles but well worth the investment.

Helped numb toes but painful at first.
I suffer from numb toes when cycling so I decided to give these a try on the off chance, before I consider investing money in a proper bike fit. At first they were very hard and uncomfortable, especially to walk on. On the bike they were bearable but still not comfortable. After a while either my feet got used to them or they started to soften and, although I would never describe them as comfy, I did not notice they were there while cycling. If trying to walk they were not painful any longer but were definitely intrusive. They have not cured my numb toes, which seems to be caused by a number of problems, but have definitely alleviated the issue some. In combination with a new saddle, and cleat wedges to alter the position of my feet, these have definitely helped, more than I initially expected them to. I would recommend trying these to see if orthotics would help any issues you may have before investing in custom made ones.
