What is the difference between the sena smh10D -11 and the sena smh10D-10?

Will the SMH 10-11 interface with the SMH 10

Can you be listening to music on your phone, and have the intercom working? Or is it just intercom only / or phone only?

Hi. My wife and I use these with our iPhones. Both she and I can listen to our own music or one person can share their music across both headsets. When the intercom button is pressed, the music will pause until you end the conversation and then it will resume from the pause point. If music is playing and the phone rings, you can choose to answer the call and the music will pause until the phone call is ended and then the music will resume. We have also been able to use the units to share a phone call. (Three wall calling). Hope this helps..... On a side note, we have found the range to be just a bit less than a mile. The one time we did get separated in heavy traffic, I just used the phone feature and called her phone and we talked on the phone until we were able to see one another again.

You can not talk and listen to music at the same time. Touch it once for talking. Touch again to go back to the music. Either person can do the touch.

Do I have to have anything plugged into the motorcycle? I've never had anything like a headset while riding, and I'm very naive about helmet headsets

If the headsets are used as an intercom, nothing is connected to the motorcycle. On my BMW, I connected a SENA SM-10 so I can receive the bikes radio. The GPS has bluetooth so it will also transmit to the headsets. There is nothing that physically connects the headsets to the bike. If you need to charge the headsets battery, it can plug into a standard 12 volt receptacle (cigarette lighter) if the bike is equipped with one.
