How can I ensure that when I turn the flashlight off when I am on moonlight, it comes back on in moonlight and not the low setting?

When I shut mine off it returns to the setting that it was previously on.

After recharging the battery, why does the flashlight only blink blue. same with putting in a fresh aa battery... is it defective? it wont turn on.

This flashlight uses an 18650 lithium ion battery, not an AA. When charging, the red light will illuminate on the switch. If you put another battery using what is called a “flat top” which is an “unprotected” battery, your light may not work. This could be because some lights need the bump on the positive side to make a connection. Another possibility is that some lights have a sleep mode to insure your light does not come on in your pocket. I don’t have the directions, but some sleep modes are activated and unactivated by three quick presses on the on button.
