Simple and it works really well
Its simplicity and functionality, just a few sticks to light without firelighters and with a small kettle on top boiling water in just a few minutes. Great for camping and just making a brew in the garden.. Well made and should last for many years

Ok if perhaps a little overpriced for what it is.
Arrived on time and in good order. Certainly appears to be of OKish quality for something likely to have been made in China for a few pennies. Works as described and boils a lot of water.......very quickly. Just to emphasise the point, this works well ONLY if you use a decent efficient tinder material and the fuel (wood) that you use is 100% bone dry. The slightest moisture in the fuel and ignition will be difficult and maintaining a good burn will be hindered with loads of horrid smoke. Also this thing does consume timber at quite a rate so take enough dry fuel or be sure of being able to locate some during use. I saw the additional pan holder accessory on amazon for about £10. Got one in local camping shop for £6. A very flimsy gauge of metal. I will make my own of thicker gauge steel plate. For longer stints, will still prefer my Coleman sportster stove ( less bulky to carry)

Great as a backup and the fuel is free
This kelly kettle can hold enough water for about 6 big mugs of tea. Mine has only been used in the garden. I bought it for a back up when the electricity goes down as we have been left kettleless a couple of time before for that reason. It consists of a double walled chimney with a separate base for fuel. To use it, you first need to fill the inner chamber which is the whole outer body of the kettle, with water. Then you must set a fire going in the base pan and sit the kettle on top of it. The base pan has a hole to allow air in and can be moved around to get the best draught. Anything can be used as fuel providing it will burn . Dried leaves and grass work but can be a bit smokey. Sticks and waste paper make a good fire. Once the fire is going and the kettle on top, you can drop things down the chimney to add more fuel. There is a cork that fits the water filling hole. It is only for use when carrying or storing the kettle. When boiling water, it should hang on its chain . The handle is stiff wire and when the kettle is boiled, holding both sides of the handle and carefully lifting it off the fire is the safest way . It needs a bit of practice with a cold kettle . It takes about 3 minutes to get boiling water once the fire is set in. There is a further cooking accessory that can be bought to make use of the heat rising out of the kettle which makes it more useful and one can cook on just the base part by adding a grid to sit pans on.

Kelly Kettle
I first heard & saw one of these kettles from a couple of friends of mine who produce firewood from a wood they own. I was impressed as to how easy it was to use,any old scraps of timber or dried grass will do & a match & away you go. Very quick as well, no messing about with stoves any more, less to carry. All you have to remember is to take some water with you. They have been around for about 100 years so it must be good. Isaw a documentry about the Royal family & I noticed they had one on a picnic at Balmoral.

You'll love it!!
This is my 4th purchase of the ever faithful Kelly kettle! I'm a forest school leader and this is valuable price of my kit! You'll turn heads at any campsite. Easy to use but I suggest looking on YouTube for your own safety as easy mistakes can be made! It's fire at the end of the day and you don't get second chances! Quality of build is excellent... Can't recommend this enough. Packs away nice and easy too... Don't bother cleaning it.. Smells better in its burnt state! I find small dry pine cones are a good fuel and also ideal for when you allow younger ones to get involve by dropping in through the top.

This is the perfect kettle for camping and fishing in the back woods. Everything is included other than the water and twigs. Highly recommended

I wanted a much smaller one this is very easy to knock over! That said, it works very well, boils water very fast!
