Century BOB Freestanding Punch Bag

The body oponent bag (or BOB) by Century has been around for a while. Assembly was straight forward although it was a little difficult to fit the mannequin onto the stand, the fit is quite tight and finding the allignment for the two screws was a little tricky. Once fitted however it's all very sturdy. I filled the base up with water. This also means all the weight is at the bottom, which is unlike a real oponent. Height adjustment is good . I am 6ft2" and I could set the BOB at the same height. There are fairly large steps between height settings however so you might find that you can't quite get the 'perfect' height for you, but then again, no opponent will be 'perfect' either. Hitting the BOB feels good, it's features help you develop accurate aim and techniques such as uppercuts can be trained well on this unlike a heavy bag, which doesn't have the right shape for this. Not having much weight at the top means there isn't much resistance when striking so don't expect to develop hard hits with this. Secondly, the Bob has a tendency to move a bit when hitting hard, and while you could use footwork and move to another side to hit it back to where it came from, this isn't practical for most people, but it is not exclusive to this BOB, it happens to allmost all freestanding bags. So in short, the BOB is a great item to train solo and work on accuracy, technique development, but it's too light to receive kicks or hard punches. For that, a heavy bag that is properly hung up from the ceiling for example, is a better option. Get a BOB to develop your accuracy/precision in your hand strikes/punches, and use it NEXT to a heavy bag for power development/endurance and kicks.

Really solid punch bag with adjustable height. The rubber is very nice to hit, not too hard but solid. I was a bit worried buying this as I am in a 1st floor flat with wood flooring so I was worried about the noise. This is a justified concern. I put in 150kg of sand and some water but it still moved around and banged the floor. Here's my advice if you buy: It's a 2 man job so have someone ready to help. Sand is preferable for filling the base and 150-200kg is needed if you hit hard. If you have wooden flooring, buy a thick exercise mat, put the base on top, then fill up afterwards. You can add water to create more space for filling up It is going to be very heavy to move, so once you've filled it, that's where it'll be.

Came over a week early and is an amazing punching dummy. I upgraded from a solid punching man to the century Bob and was 100% worth the money, it’s tough enough to take a beating but is soft enough to be used without gloves. The base is a lot better than I thought from reading some other reviews about it being unstable but i have filled it with sand and I wouldn’t expect it to be any more sturdy considering it has easy height adjustment and the dummy part can be removed off. I am very happy with my purchase.

Its ok but the bolts you have to put in on the back is a nightmare apart from that everything great

I used to sell these many years ago but never had one until now. We all love it! Great for fitness, mental health and confidence. We leave the water filled base in the garden and bring BOB himself in at night. Worth every penny.

I really love this bob been using it now for about 10 weeks, it’s really well built I have had the cheaper version in past but end up destroying them as the quality isn’t their, was really easy to assemble, height is adjustable from 5ft5” to 6ft5” I filled base with 90 kg of sand still moves a bit but you want it to for it to be more realistic to real fight situations! Great for accuracy cardio and combination drills for beginners and seasoned veterans alike 💯

This is definitely the best piece of equipment i have ever purchased.It gives you real striking angles and possibilities that regular standing punch bag dont provide.Simple fact of having an anatomic shape rather then “barrel” shape,Bob made me realise that some angles of my striking were a bit off,especially body shots and body kicks.Now,hitting that rubber face rather then bag is just pure beauty.Game changer for accuracy.Plus i can train everything on it from boxing/mma,through krav maga (eye gauging and stuff is too enjoyable :) to bit of bjj chokes.Thanks Century,5 stars product

Great training aid for all combat sports, can’t fault it. Mines in the garage and its not noisy when using unlike sone other punch equipment Ive owned. This will bring your game on to the next level. You in my view must fill with sand, water will not work. The hole is small and filling is time consuming, a bigger hole would of been welcome, however I git there with 4 big bands of sand taking an hour each to empty into Bob. Putting together was hard the screw holes didn’t quite match up but again I got there. Expensive but great, will never replace the heavy bag but having both is best and you will train great , buy it.

No matter how angry BOB makes you and how long you hammer his grumpy face and chiseled body, BOB will absorb your punches like Gandhi on a salt mission. 3-4 minutes guaranteed HIT level exercise for men and women.

J'ai reçu mon nouveau partenaire d'entraînement hier et WOW! Points forts : - Texture merveilleusement confortable et quand même près de la réalité (du moins plus près qu'un sac de frappe traditionnel) - 270 lbs. Son poids étant issu élevé, les frappes puissantes sont possibles. - Sa forme humaine permet non seulement de frapper pour frapper, mais aussi de travailler avec précision. Beaucoup plus efficace de s'entraîner en visant le foie, la gorge, les tampes... La précision de frappe en combat change tout ;-) - Réglable en hauteur. Je peux donc entraîner mes frappes avec précision sur des hauteurs différentes. On ne se bag pas toujours contre quelqu'un de notre taille, faut savoir varier! - Livraison très rapide (normalement prévue deux jours plus tard!!! Bravo!) Points faibles: - un peu cher mais ça en vaut le prix. - il lui manque les jambes. Le modèle Bob XL existe mais beaucoup plus cher. - le montage est facile sauf pour certaines vis (au dos) qui sont plus difficiles à atteindre. Avec de la patience, on y arrive ;-) Bref, je suis merveilleusement satisfait de Bob et je le recommande sans hésitation.

Llegó rapido y en perfecta condiciones. Está genial, muy realista y genial para entrenar en casa. En mi caso lo he llenado con agua. Es rápido con ayuda de un ambudo. He llenado 80 litros (caben 120) y la base aguanta bien. Es cierto que cuesta un poco encajar el muñeco y colocar los tornillos (sobre todo si lo haces solo). Recomiendo que lo coloquéis sobre un suelo de goma (tipo tatami o algo por el estilo) porque sobre un suelo duro hace bastante ruido. Es un buen producto, lo recomiendo y lo volveria a comprar
