FAILED AFTER ONLY 3 WEEKS!!
Do not buy!! I had high hopes but this drive failed after only 3 weeks and lost all my data! On top of that to return it for a replacement or repair with Seagate, they expect you to pay postage and wrap it in very specific wrapping (in an ESD (electrostatic discharge) bag or in an anti-static plastic shell). AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

I already have a LaCie 2Big Dock Raid 16TB ThunderBolt 3 and this has been running for 5 years without a glitch. I have 2x 27" Monitors and using this drive allows my MacBook Pro to run 3 screens utilising the built in Hub. I have the Old Drive running Time Machine via Daisy Chain to the New Storage. No Glitching and No Speed dropouts noticed. I have everything connected via ThunderBolt 5 and the speed is amazing. I would Highly Recommend this product especially if your a Mac User. I just plug one cable in and everything fires up with no issues. One thing I have to note is you need to UnMount all the drives before unplugging but this is the norm for Mac. Both drives are Mirror Raid Just incase. I have partitioned the old drive so there are 2x 4TB Time Machine Drive, One is used for my Son and One for my Self these are password protected so on start up we just enter our password and eject the others unwanted Time Machine. the 32TB of this New HDD is Mirror for our Photo Sharing. I have every confidence in this product and Highly Recommend it, I would advise you consider the size and how you will use it before purchasing but I would assume anyone would do that.

Failed right from the start.
THis is the third seagate 'raid' device that I have bought and used over the last few years. All of the previous ones have worked flawlessly. This one unfortunately was bad right from the start. It appeared to create a back-up but then 'told' me that the drive was inaccessible. (See the photo). I tried to set it up several times and each time got the same result- not much use if you need the drive to protect your files! An entire afternoon on-line to Seagate couldn't sort the problem out so the drive was eventually returned to the supplier who couldn't fix it either! They are now refunding the purchase price to my account. Thanks you.

Used to be a reliable RAID back up solution for Mac.
Lacie Two Big Docks were commendably reliable. I have two that outlived their five-year data recovery warranty without issue and are still in use. I got a third one for a good price on an Amazon deal, so I had the data recovery protection again. Lacie were very helpful in reseting the warranty to the date of purchase, so i had the full five-years. This is a traditional two spinning disk RAID, so transfer speeds are acceptable for back-ups and longer term storage but they don't compete with SSDs on speed. Comms is via Thunderbolt 3. The only RAID option with redundancy is mirrored. The drives remain cool and are reasonably quiet during intense use. The main hardware issue I have found is that external hard drives were not being handled well by early versions of Mac OS Sequioa. This resulted in disks being dismounted or failing to sleep. Software wise, Lacie Toolkit software (V 2.300.4) still seems to be pretty buggy on Mac Sequoia. Hopefully there will be an update. Update: I had to twice return the 2 Big Dock v2 to Seagate under warranty. The drive continued to dismount, corrupting these data and the drive showing a solid red LED due to over heating. This is disappointing as I haven’t any issues in five-years+ with my older v1 versions of the 2big Dock. In fairness to Seagate, they sent a replacement drive out promptly each time and the full warranty was transferred without issue. What concerns me is the V2 2 Big Docks don’t support SMART monitoring with Mac native software like the V1 2 Big Docks do. That means there is no native software support to monitor the health of the drive in Mac Sequoia etc. Lacie ‘used' to be a Mac orientated company but that seems to have changed under Seagate. They suggested I monitor the SMART status with their SeaTools software on a windows computer! Thankfully Amazon kindly stepped in. I ended up replacing the hard drives in my old V1 2 Big Docks to refresh the data protection warranty.

I won't consider purchasing from them in the future. The product began malfunctioning shortly after I started using it, and their customer service was unsatisfactory. It took an excessively long time to receive a refund. They also required me to cover shipping costs, which I've never had to do on Amazon before. Despite suggesting they would refund the shipping fee, they ultimately declined. Fortunately, Amazon intervened and refunded the shipping costs. Dealing with this company cost me both money and time due to their subpar product and customer service. Do not recommend

This is now the third LaCie 2Big Docks that I've owned, so obviously I'm a fan. That said, they can be a bit frustrating. Specifically how often they'll fall asleep. Truthfully, this could be a Mac OS issue, I’m not entirely sure but I can be editing in Final Cut Pro, switch to my mail app for a second to see if there's any new mail, and by the time I return to Final Cut, the disc has fallen asleep and I have to wait upwards of a minute or two for it to wake up and allow me to start editing again. It's incredibly frustrating! I've taken to using a third party app to keep it awake by constantly writing a little bit of data to it every 30 seconds, which works, though I worry about the long-term effect it'll have on the drives. Also, while I usually don't bother with installing the software that drive manufacturers ship, you absolutely *need* to install LaCie's poorly named "Toolkit" app so you can not only adjust the LED brightness but more importantly reformat the drive to a Mac OS format in order to optimize speeds. That being said, considering the other options I've tried in the past this is among the best. I just wish it was *better*.

A éviter!!

NO RECOMIENDO A NADIE COMPRAR DISCOS LACIE O SEAGATE.
