Brilliant little opener. Very easy to use and ridiculously sharp, first time I used it I twisted the handle and it moved so easily I thought it wasn’t cutting anything. Lid is retained and you have to press a button to release it, again very simple to use. There are no exposed blades so very safe. Small and compact and well designed.

Brilliant bit of kit! I have been struggling slightly with grip recently, and this is so much easier than normal tin openers! Originally purchased for its compact size (which is very handy), I was surprised by how easy it made opening tins - much faster and more comfortable to use than traditional tin openers. So much so that I have purchased another one for my elderly mother in law who struggles with arthritis. Good value for money - not that much more expensive than normal ones, and feels solidly made so hopefully it will last a long time (only been in use a few weeks so far, so can't really comment on durability at the moment).

Finally, a tin opener that can actually open a tin of salmon, unlike the last couple of openers I had, which were inexplicably defeated by salmon. No issues with tuna or pilchards, just salmon. This one is easy to use with a weak grip, and feels nice and solid. My only complaint is how difficult it is to get this opener out of its packaging. Whoever signed off on that packing design clearly never tried to open the thing himself.

I wish I had read the reviews before buying this. Then again, because of its funky looks, I would have probably given it a chance. So if you read reviews, please don't ignore this one. Looks wise .... 5* plus Normal quality from Joseph Joseph ..... 5* plus Function ....... - 5* Firstly it is a complete fiddle trying to make good contact with the tin to enable turning it. And no difference as too tin size. Tuna or peas ... i end up with the juice flying out all over my hands - eventually - great emphasis on EVENTUALLY. When at last, after much effort and cursing, I do get the tin to almost open ( lid fully off seems nigh impossible ) .... its a dangerous job then trying to remove the lid without slicing the tops of your fingers off. I cant fully tell you how dangerous this nice looking kitchen gadget is. And if anyone has bought a nice looking tin opener that looks great in your utensil drawer, and actually works to an acceptable and safe function, please tell me so I can buy one. I'll order the boring yet predictable 'good grips' one meanwhile.

I bought this over a year ago. The idea is terrific — it's designed to work for both left- and right-handed users and seems easy to use. It started off well, but in practice, it’s frustrating. It often fails to open cans properly — sometimes only opening partway, leaving you struggling to finish the job. When it works, it's great! But sadly, it doesn’t work consistently. I’m now looking for a replacement.

Why have I bought cheap can openers before just to have them break or butcher cans. These are the best ever. Expensive but work perfectly.

I am so happy with this product. Very easy and safe to use. The cut is surprisingly clean but not sharp at all. I was so tired of all the can openers that didn't do anything but a dangerous mess, so finding this was a great surprise. Highly recommend.

Super easy to use. Requires almost no effort. The lid-release button is a smart design detail that keeps everything clean and hassle-free. Probably one of the most useful kitchen tools I’ve bought on Amazon.

When I read a column by Rhik Samadder, gadget reviewer for The Guardian who gave this a 5/5, I knew I had to have it. It is everything it's supposed to be - tiny, efficient, and easy to use. No gigantic can openers that get caught in the drawer. No more "easy grip" (hah!) handles. Just put this gadget on top of the can, turn the top, press the button on the side to release, and voila - opened can. And no little tiny bit of the lid stuck to the can after you're done. Highly recommended.
