What is the risk of thermal shock on double glazed windows?

Despite the comic replies this product is not intended to be used on the internal face of sealed unit double glazing and may cause glass failure due to heat reflected into the sealed unit which can't escape. No mention of this made in the item description on Amazon and I only found this after my order was delivered and I checked on the suppliers web site. Even there it's in small download note at the end. They also sell external fit film to avoid thermal shock specifically for sealed unit double glazing which should be clearly stated on Amazon.

does this film block out any light? we have quite a small bedroom that already does not get alot of light so do not want to risk blocking out any more

Yes it does block out a small percentage of the light depending on the depth of tint. It is noticeable but we felt it was a fair trade to stop neighbours overlooking us being able to look straight into the bedroom.

I need this to block all vision into a room and look like a mirror from outside. visibility from inside can also be blank.

This blocks people seeing in from the outside in daylight only but you can see out. When it gets dark and you have lights on people can see in. It looks mirrored from the outside. Great for privacy in daylight hours but blinds or curtains for nighttime.

When applied to the outside glass, will it stay put in wind/rain? When removed, does it leave a residue on the glass?

Yes we put it on the outside face and had plenty of wind and rain stayed on no problem. We did not take it off so can't help with the residue
