How I Met Your Mother - Season 1-8 [DVD]

A wonderful, feel-good show, with plenty of laughs and recurring jokes. This is not a realistic series in the way 'Friends' was, as the characters are more often in slightly wacky situations and react in crazy ways, but it has that same feel of 'I wish I was a part of their group'. For me, Barney Stinson is the best character of the five, played by the wonderful Neil Patrick Harris, who is alternately very funny and truly heart-breaking; I adore the evolution of his character. If you're planning on buying the complete series, you could wait for Season 9 to come out on DVD and get the whole lot together, but judging by the way the writers messed up the S9 finale (in the opinion of about 99% of the fans), you might want to stick with S1-8 and end on a high… Recommended.

If you're a HIMYM fan then this is perfect. It's actually worth getting this over the season 1-9 boxset and then buying the season 9 DVDS separate to save money, that's what I did. The packaging is fantastic, all 20 odd discs are safe and secure and the show is absolute quality. It's also loads of TV to go through so enjoy!

It was so much more satisfying being able to watch episode after episode and have the continuity and mood constant then watching it week to week and forgetting what was going on - on TV. I lost track of this around the 5th season due to work commitments and network scheduling however managed to see an episode every now and then. I still was determined to see who the mother was and was glad the network did not can the series before fulfilment. I bought this when they had just released the whole 9 series as a box set. By buying the first 8 and adding the just released 9th series it worked out less than half the price and worth every penny. P.S. Definitely buy series 9.

All the disks are stored in a large single plastic case, with 3 or 4 disks per series. The blue cardboard dust cover is colourful and attractive, but so tight and thin its unlikely to last very long if you're taking the case in and out each time you view a disc. Each disk generally has a different cover picture, appropriate to the show, and they're colourful and nicely printed. The disks are stored 1 per side on each platter in the case, so are easy to access and remove. Each disk is also a good thickness (I've noticed some DVD discs I've bought are are very thin and worryingly flex as you take them on and off their case spindles). So, combined with the case layout, they seem fairly safe. The show itself is what you'll be expecting (sort of 'Friends 2'), and the video/audio quality is also what you'd expect from a modern TV series.

Good value for money. Well worth a buy if you are a HIMYM fan. The packaging is quite good with all the DVDs in one place. Currently the series 1-9 boxset is being sold for £89, if you buy this and then get series 9 separately, you are saving yourself money!

If you need a good laugh, enjoy US sitcoms with a bunch of friends in and out of mischief, relationships and marriage then this is for you. I've watched the whole set through a couple of times - and will keep doing so in the future. Plenty of extras such as out takes, blooper reels and behind the scenes throughout.

I was kind of disappointed that it only was the DVD in one and not that package to each season!!!!

How I met your mother is a nice, comfortable modern day sitcom. The 5 main characters have perfect chemistry and what makes it even more enjoyable is, some of the episodes are featured in a non-chronological order. However, one cannot refuse to mention the fact the characters rarely develop throughout the series and it only has been attempted in the last season where much of what happened really did not add much to the story. Personally, I believe the series does not have as much charm as ‘Seinfeld’ or ‘Friends’ but, one cannot ignore the amusement it offers to us.

Prodotto arrivato nel tempo indicato e in perfette condizioni. Il cofanetto si presenta bene e al suo interno i dvd sono ben ordinati. Le lingue selezionabili sono solo inglese e francese. L'unica pecca é la mancanza dell'ultima stagione che ti costringe a comprarla separatamente.

Je n'avais plus autant ri depuis Friends. Des personnages caricaturés auxquels on s'attache très vite, un humour détonnant...que des ingrédients de qualité. Préparez-vous à ne plus quitter votre salon. Ce coffret spindle est hyper pratique et compact, et à ce prix-là, c'est plus qu'une affaire.

Il mio acquisto è arrivo con una perfetta tempistica. Le condizioni erano ottime sia del prodotto interno che di quello esterno. Non ho avuto nessun problema per quanto riguarda i formati dei dvd. Si vedevano tutti perfettamente.

Commander en catastrophe pour l'anniversaire d'un ami fan de la série. Il en a été très satisfait... Il a demandé sa compagne en mariage ! Toujours mariés à ce jour.
