The assembly instructions could be made clearer but it can be worked out, a phillips screwdriver is required. Once assembled it is an excellent and fairly sturdy piece of equipment and it was delivered very swiftly complete with the protractor as illustrated on the amazon website.

Rubbish - slide mechanism is totally useless - better off trying Blundell Harling as this is a waste of money. Cheers Rotring for making cheap plastic.

45 degrees, as pictured
The drawing board overhangs the edge of a table, as pictured, with four angles of 0 (flat), 15, 30 and what seems around 40 degrees as pitch options. The quality is good and at the highest pitch is comfortable for detailed close work when seated. There is a small amount of play in the horizontal rule if you apply any force on it, but that just requires a little delicacy in how you use it. It ships with the Rotring S0213680 Drawing Head (not the vertical rule as pictured) which can be adjusted to any angle (and has defined 'presets' every 15 degrees) from 0 through 90. The drawing head is okay but not brilliant - I'm not sure I'll use it much, but it's nice to have included all the same. In all, it's a nice piece of kit and to me seems worthy of more stars than the previous reviewer suggests.

Nice drawing board
Had some issues with the bearings/rollers popping out but seems to be ok now. Really nice to use but a bit big for my desk!

Great board for basic design work
I bought this to draw up some architectural plans for our home extension and used to have one when I was at uni in the 80's. Its a great board for technical drawing , though I suppose a bit dated as most folk use CAD these days, but for old schoolers it allows technical drawings to be cranked out efficiently.

maybe ok for some
Having the rule tide in at one side like this is a problem if you go off the paper. If you are using clips, this means you have to have the work too high for comfort. You also have to hold the protractor with your finger for it to be accurate. I am using set squares till I get a weighted board. Depends what your needs are. Might be ok for you but not for me.
