Maypole Breathable Full Cover for Large Cars Water Resistant, Grey

Bought this for my Toyota MR2 Mark 2 because I can no longer keep it in the garage. Ordered the MEDIUM which fits perfectly for length. I anticipated an issue with the height of the vehicle but this was less of a problem than I thought. Yes, the cover sits at ground level - no clearance under the car in places but this doesn't seem to matter. It appears to have 'moulded' to the shape of the car after a week, though of course it's a looser fit than on standard saloons - so it is important to use the reinforced grommet holes and cord which are located in a central position on the sides of the cover - at the bottom. This stops the wind getting underneath it and blowing it away ! The elasticated corners fit well under the bumpers - but probably more loosely than on a saloon. I have posted a photo of the MEDIUM cover on my Toyota MR2. I should look much the same on MGFs and those Honda S2000s - and cars of similar size. I feel some of the reviews of this item are a little unfair. The characteristics of the material used are made clear in the advertising. It is 'breathable' for a reason. If it was watertight it would encourage rusting and rotting - a curse for soft-tops. I have found that it does all that is claimed - keeps the cr*p off the car - and after the rain, it dries out naturally. All in all it is a well made cover and fantastic value at the present price - a very cheap solution to the many problems caused by outside storage.

Very good value. Some reviewers have complained that this cover is not 100% waterproof, but if it was, it would likely cause rust, so it has to be breathable microporous fabric, and this seems to make the rain bead on the outside. It may be that some will get through, but as long as the very heavy rain is kept off it won't get into the car. It seems Ford CMax's have leaks ! Lots of them! The cover I got is medium sized and fits my CMax down to the wheel nuts, but not under the bumpers, but that's ok because the straps go right under the car and can be tightened, so they hold quite securely. The only real problem and why I gave only 4 stars is that its quite difficult to throw the straps right under the car and out the other side. They are only just long enough and I had to kneel on the ground and use a plastic garden rake to drag the straps through till i could reach them, which was very difficult for me. So, I am getting some outdoor bungee cords to use instead. Very good cover but needs reinforced holes for bungees please?

This cover is nothing like the picture however I am extremely happy and impressed with it. It is of a good quality and elastic both front and back tucking tight under front and back bumpers of my Ford fiesta hatchback . It has two straps that also fasten underneath the car securing it snugly. I cannot fault this item so far. Very happy especially at the price

Not water resistant in the slightest. Nice cover indoor use only. The fact you can see perforations in the cover like a teabag it's not waterproof. Use the cover outside and get a mouldy car, However I purchased to keep the car warm and dust free. Indoors Ideal. Using a small size on a classic fiat 500 far too big

I bought this to stop the birds from pooping on my car! We were going on holiday in the car and had it cleaned and valeted a few days previous. We live near the seaside and have real trouble with seagulls pooping all over the car so I decided to cover the car for a few days until we went away so we could go with a decent car! This cover did the trick. It’s not mega thick but I didn’t expect that for the price but it’s decent enough. The straps held it on even though it was windy but you do really need help to fit them or an implement (I used a walking stick). It looked fine when it was on and it rained overnight and it didn’t leak. It’s ok for the price and I will keep it to use again.

The FACTs: it is not water resistance, Medium size not large, Can only be used in door and leaves scratch when drag over the paint, at least 2 persons needed to put it over the car otherwise will leave scratches. Details: Firstly the car cover says water resistance but which is not. This cannot be used as a outdoor cover by any chance as a little shower actually make your car wet under the cover. Secondly it said large but does not even cover a hatchback. In may case it was a Mercedes GLA. On its technical details it says 35.6 x 28.6 x 20 cm which is the box size. I bought it as it said large and I have had used another cover before which was medium. But found both are of same size! How possibly a seller would leave box size on the technical specification rather than the actual cover size. No doubt it is strong and if used in door may last ages. When comes to store you will need a good space to leave it as it almost takes up the whole boot. Also as it is too heavy when dragging over the paint left scratches on my brand new car. Finally when I contacted the seller, they got back with the following response: "The product description says it is breathable which allows water to evaporate out, it doesn't say that it will specifically fit a Mercedes GLA, so the product supplied is as described." Which really does not make any sense to my issues and hence left no choice but leaving (wasting time) this feedback to aware other customers.

This cover is very good. Much stronger than I thought and fits my Picanto perfectly.

Bought this to cover a BMW 3 series saloon which is parked under a tree. I found within days of having it washed it would collect seeds, leaves and small twigs in the gaps between the bonnet and the gaps by the boot. Its not exactly a catastrophe but these leaves soon break down into bits which powder the car in dirt which is very difficult to clean. Power washers wont reach these areas the only way to protect the car is park it else where or get a cover. Three gueses what i chose to do. This cover is made of a material similar to a very very thick kitchen towel (almost like a thick surface wiping cloth), as a results its not as flexible as id like but certainly repels water, animal droppings and leaves. It is elasticated to fit snug and has 2 O rings in the side and a small amount of string to secure it (not necessary for me). There is a white label at the front and a material loop at the rear for securing, i dont use these for anything other than knowing which way around it fits. Due to the thickness of the material id struggle to put it into the supplied bag so i simply scrunch it and stuff it in the boot (or leave it at home if im travelling away). The box actually shows a 3 series bmw not the ford focus pictured, this size is ideal for a bmw 3 series, CLA, C Class, Audi A4 size of car i wouldnt trust it on anything larger. So overall the supplied cable, O rings and material loop are in my opinion quite useless but the elastic and fit are tight enough to hold it in in place (my drive is covered but if your car is exposed it might blow off). For this price its perfectly adequate and keeps my nearly new car looking good as new. Buy with confidence its perfectly adequate, bought one in medium for my wifes BMW 1 series as well and it fits perfectly fine. Very happy overall
