KS2 Maths Study Book - Ages 7-11 (CGP KS2 Maths), 29.5 cm

I bought this book a while ago and did not really use it, until we started getting ready for KS2 SATs. I particularly love the practice tests at the end of each set of topics. The tests are not long, however, there are great for spotting any gaps in knowledge/understanding/application. The pages in this book indicate in what years school should cover each topic, which is very useful to know. The contents page makes it very easy to navigate. Such book would be great for homeschooling. We are using it in addition to school. Kids have improved on test results greatly after just a few weeks working through this book.

This study book is packed with everything kids need to excel in maths! It breaks down concepts clearly and provides plenty of examples to help them understand. The layout is easy to follow, making it a great tool for both parents and kids. We’ve been using this as a go-to resource for homework and revision, and it’s made a noticeable difference in my child’s confidence. Highly recommend it for any 7-11-year-old needing extra maths support!

I bought this book to help my daughter with her 11 plus and SATs revision. It lists all the maths topics/terminology that they need to know in a really easy to understand format. It does include some examples but there are not really any questions to answer so if you’re looking for practice papers, this is not for you. However as a reference guide for children to refer to when they can’t remember how to work out something out then this is ideal. We’ve found it really useful.

I used CGP books when I was at school many years ago and found them useful so got this for my child. It’s useful in that it explains all the concepts easily and there are some practise questions at the end of each section. I’m hoping my child will start to use this independently as a reference if they get stuck.

Great and simplify examples

The Study Books are a good series of books for children studying for SATS exams, they are helpful to any Parent not knowing what exactly is covered at school and break the National Curriculum down into easier to understand sections in a fun way. The language used is not the best but it does lighten the tone instead of being serious and boring. Having bought the complete set for my son with hindsight I would have just stuck to the Study books without the Tricky Bit books as a lot of the work in them is duplicated in the Study book, the Study book has the advantage of question and answer sections in them as well. Buy the Study books with a set of practice SATS papers (Questions and Answers) and your child will gain confidence. Downside is that you then have to mark it all!.....

We arrived from a overseas and a different education system and these books have been a lifesaver. I bought this book, the workbooks that go with it, and the mental maths books from the same series. All together they are absolutely fantastic. One point to note is that the study book is divided according to subject, not year group, which would have been easier for me. However the workbooks are divided by year group, so we have been systematically working through those to catch her up. The whole series works very well together. The study book looks at each topic and explains it in very clear, plain English. There are however very few questions for the child to do themselves. This is where buying the age appropriate workbook is helpful too as it practises what they have learnt. The way that we work is that my daughter goes over the page in the study book, then uses the practise questions in the workbook to make sure she has understood everything. As a parent it's also helpful for me to go over topics such as decimal multiplication. It's a long time since I did it myself so we are both benefitting!
