Can you use this with talk talk?

I don't think the service provider matters too much, it's more a case of the way your house is wired. I would agree with the previous responder that not all of the possible pins are cabled in this lead, but the problem here is that cabling standards can vary. I would not blame this cable unless I had more information! I don't know if it is still true, but at one time the in-house wiring varied by telephone area! These days, of the 6 possible pins/wires usually only 2 or 3 pins/wires are used. In my case I have only pins 2 (usually blue wire with white bands) and 5 (usually white wire with blue bands) are used. If that is the case for you then this cable should be fine. If you have a typical "tone dialling" configuration then you may find that pin 3 (usually orange with white bands) is also used - the "ring" or "bell" signal is kept separate from the speech channels. Pins 1 & 6 are, afaik, never used in household cabling. I say "usually" regarding the colours as again, it depends who wired the house! It doesn't matter as long as the same wire is used for the same pins at both ends. Please don't take my word for this though, if in doubt either take a close look at your existing flat telephone plugs (used to be called "E93A Rapid Connect" by BT) where you should be able to see the wires, their colours, and to which pins they attach ... or get someone with experience to check, or just call your service provider and ask (nb. "Talk Talk" may not be the people responsible for the physical cabling, but you will probably have to call them to start with). If you need a 3-wire cable then email the supplier before purchase to check (or even make up your own cable?). I hope this helps.

Is this cable able to let a phone ring - i have read a review that says there is no third wire for ringing...

Works exactly as it should. No surprises.

I use it to run an extension for a new landline phone I purchased from Amazon. This traditional phone doesn't need to be plugged into a power source (ie. electricity) so I'll be able to continue using my landline phone, even if there's a power cut! I wonder how many people realise that without one these type of so called "antiquated" analogue phones, that don't need to be plugged into a wall socket to work? If the power to your house goes, I generally find my mobile loses their signal (prob connected to the modem which has to be plugged in🤷‍♂️So basically, without a basic landline phone, you're effectively kaput!

10m cable - does what it says!

I bought this cable to enable me to put my BT Homehub in the living room. As the cable is flat I was able to get it tucked away under the carpet and underneath carpet dividers at doors where there is a carpet one side and not the other. It's hidden away and does not look unsightly as well as meaning my hub is higher up for better wireless reception. It does exactly what I wanted at a price I wanted and has put up with my children repeatedly pulling it out for me to trip over, so surprisingly robust!

Great extension to allow use of landline in far away area

This product is brilliant. Such good value for what it is and has allowed us to use our landline phone in a much more practical area than the original port was located. It's very long so you can manoeuvre it to fit the way you would like around the room and the white colour makes it discrete if you have light coloured walls or ceilings. If you need something like this then make sure you get this one.

A good cheap phone cable extension.

A 10m telephone extension cable for less than £3 delivered? What is there to dislike? It arrived very quickly from the seller and was just a simple case of plugging in, route the cable and attach the phone before it was working. My phone is now out of the way and working as it always has. Not much more you can say. I'm not sure how robust it is, but for running along a wall and not touching again it's fine. I'm not sure I'd want to be moving it all the time or tripping over it however. Summary: It works. It's long. It's cheap. If you're in the market for one, buy it!

Works With Broadband

I purchased this item due to needing an extension to my broadband to another room. This product was excellent and I only lost 2Kb, thats right, 2Kb off my total download speed. A small and acceptable loss for such a long cable which had even got 90- degree bends in it! I would therefore recommend this product for use on telephone AND broadband. Make sure you USE AN ADSL FILTER as standard on any equipment then you won't have any issues. I wil buy off this seller again!
