Was unsure when I bought it but it is incredible. Is a lot better than many store bought ones and the quality is 10/10. Appearance wise when in water, it's a darkish green and doesn't taste bitter either in lattes, more so tastes like matcha should. Really good matcha, definitely value for money.

I bought this as a gift for my girlfriend who loves tea almost as much as I do. After trying the standard 'tea' and 'latte' combinations we decided to experiment with food. So far we have made white chocolate and cashew nut cups, milk chocolate and matcha buttercups, matcha lassi (an indian yoghurt drink) and matcha cupcakes. All have been excellent, the flavour of PureChimp really comes through in all food combinations and the colour is a wonderful deep green. We are hoping to try out some matcha pancakes and Ice creams next and I expect they will turn out just as tasty as the rest. This tea is somewhat bitter as expected but it is not unpleasant. Mixed in water with a little honey is delicious and it also pairs well with almond milk for those who are lactose intolerant. The energy lift with this matcha is just as good, if not better than a morning coffee with none of the downside of the jitters when coming down or any sudden crash. I hate mornings and usually have to have two cups of coffee before I can function without growling at anyone who asks me a question but after just one small cup of matcha I was up and ready to go within minutes.

This Matcha is excellent! It blends beautifully into tea, latte’s, Greek yogurt and oats! It’s ceremonial grade and organic, great quality! Very easy to use in my preferred drinks and food and is beautifully green! It’s slightly more pricey than some of the other matcha brands on the market that I’ve tried, but I do prefer the quality of this one, worth every penny!

Bought this for my wife as she’s a bit of a matcha connoisseur, and she absolutely loves it. She mentioned that the taste is one of the closest she’s had to authentic Japanese matcha, which really says a lot about the quality. She mostly uses it in her coffee, and it blends well with a smooth, rich flavour. Overall, excellent quality, great taste, and definitely worth it if you’re into matcha!

Kintea is the first matcha I have tried which is around double the price, so I decided to see if this was comparable. That said please bear in mind my review is based on this so a little biased as I love Kintea. Pros- A lot cheaper as already stated Flavour is pretty good, but probably better for baking/cooking with then as a drink. Cons- You get what you pay for, the colour is definitely more dull than kintea and I assume other more expensive brands. It's starts pretty vibrant in the jar but once made up, turns dull quite quickly . Lack of foam. The foam disintegrates soon after whisking. This doesn't affect the flavour, but the texture is less pleasing. Aftertaste- I make my matcha into a latte with caramel flavoured stevia and some vanilla extract, but this matcha has a very slight bitter aftertaste. It wasn't bad enough to ruin the taste while drinking it, I feel that my flavourings masked it, but it was more noticeable once I'd finished the drink. Overall- definitely recommend if you're on a budget or want matcha to bake with. But if you are looking for a really vibrant, foamy, delicate tasting matcha, this probably isn't the one for you.

I am very sensitive to caffeine as it makes me jittery, anxious and gives me heart palpitations. Although I find it hard to gain the necessary energy that I require for 12 hour shifts, which lead me to matcha and I decided to try it. This matcha not only tastes great, but its effects had me in a state of calm alertness for hours, l love it. While I say it tastes great, it also did not taste as vegetal as it was meant to be, but I like that nonetheless. The EGCG in matcha, which is a powerful antioxidant, is superior to that of normal green tea due to the pulverisation and harvesting process of the leaf, which gives it over 137 times more anti oxidants than lower grade green tea which is good for the immune system, clearing the body of free radicals, preventing oxidative stress and also aiding in weight loss. Matcha is also full of L-theanine, which is an amino acid which is able to cross the blood brain barrier. It activates “alpha waves”, in the brain which activates a state of calmness without drowsiness. This makes it great for remaining focused in stressful situations as well as getting a good night sleep. Not only that, I can feel the water weight pour off me while I don’t get that ‘dehydrated’ feeling that I get from coffee and tea. It feels wonderful and I recommend it to anybody if they would like to remain focused, relaxed or want to aid in better sleep. Be aware, I was confused by the picture of this product and thought that the Matcha came with the utensils such as the bamboo whisk and measuring spoon, but it does not. The tub is made of glass and is 50grams. Originally I read the instructions wrong and was having 1/2 tablespoon of matcha instead of 1/2 teaspoon! Although despite the large volume I never got anxious or jittery like I do with coffee which is amazing. The only downside I can say for this tea is that it came packaged rather messy with the powder outside and around the lid and beneath the tub. Other than that, I highly recommend it.

I use PureChimp Matcha for tea, and I love it! It gives me a gentle energy boost without the jitters that coffee can give, and the slightly sweet aftertaste makes it really enjoyable. Smooth, easy to mix and has a mild, gentle flavour with no bitterness. I highly recommend for anyone who wants a coffee alternative with health benefits 👌🏾

Ich habe den Matcha gekauft, obwohl ich eigentlich eine totale Kaffeeliebhaberin bin, aber ich wollte einfach mal etwas Neues ausprobieren. Und ich muss sagen: Ich bin echt positiv überrascht. Der Geschmack ist angenehm mild, leicht herb und nicht zu bitter. Was mir besonders wichtig war: Der Matcha ist hochwertig verarbeitet und hat eine schöne, leuchtend grüne Farbe. Er löst sich auch gut auf, ohne Klümpchen zu bilden, was mir als Anfängerin das Zubereiten echt leicht gemacht hat.

Coffee was upsetting my stomach but I still needed caffeine in the morning. After some research, I found that matcha contains l-theanine, which can help with stress and focusing. It can also help with inflammation. I have ADHD, bi-polar, an autoimmune disease, and am all around typically pretty tightly wound and stressed. I've found that I am able to focus better after having a matcha. I've also found that I don't feel jittery and anxious after having a cup, like I would with coffee. I've also had less energy spikes and crashes. If you've ever had a matcha at Starbucks, this is not the same. This has a cleaner, not as sweet taste. There is no bitterness to it, because I believe it is ceremonial grade (after researching.) It blends well and the small container lasts a long time. I've had at least 5 matchas a week for the past 6 weeks and my container isn't empty yet. This is due to you having to use very little to make a cup. The recipe I follow to make my matcha is the following: 1/2 tsp PureChimp Matcha 1/2 tsp water 1 1/2 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk 1 1/2 TBSP Lankanto Monk Fruit Sweetner I start by following the directions of how to make the matcha paste on the back of the container. I heat my almond milk in the microwave for 2 minutes. I slowly add some almond milk to my matcha paste and mix with my milk frother, making sure I get all of the matcha off the sides of the cup. I then add the rest of my almond milk and add my lankanto monk fruit sweetener. Then I froth. It tastes amazing. I really think this is the perfect matcha powder.
