The Running Man [Blu-ray]

This is a great movie set in a future gone wrong. It's no Blade Runner or Terminator, but still really enjoyable, and the first time Arnold had a lot of lines to say in a movie. Casting the game show host Richard Dawson as the host of Running Man was brilliant. Other than recommending it, I don't think I have a lot to add. When deciding whether to upgrade my old DVD to Blu Ray the first review that came up complained about the transfer. This is definitely a Hi Definition transfer, and much better quality than the letter box DVD I had previously. What might throw you is that the opening graphics might have been cgi (1980s cgi) and the film looks like the cinematographer subconsciously wanted it to be black and white. The transfer was probably from a vault copy of the film, not the negative. Its a clean transfer of a clean copy of the film. It would have been a sound artistic decision to make this film in black and white, the film doesn't look like it had as big budget as it did, but it had enough budget that black and white would have been out of the question.

After viewing Olive Films terrible transfer of Running Man, it was a real pleasure to view this German transfer. Crisp Blu-ray image is enhanced with English DTS Master 7.1 audio, and 1.85 aspect ratio fills the entire screen. However, you will need a region free player to view it. But it does go to show how a carefully done transfer of an older film can come out so exceptional. As far as Momox Shop, the package was shipped within two days of ordering and arrived in less than a week here in Hawaii, via Deutsche Post! That’s faster than I’ve seen some USPS priority shipping. Kudos to Momox Shop!

Classic 80s sci Fi, Arnold at his cheesy best.

This was the only physical version of the film I could find at the time so, I snagged it real quick and just realized it was the Olive Films version! As physical media unfortunately dies out for the laziness of streaming, my collecting zeal lives on because of companies like Olive who take pride in their releases.

The movie itself is fine (excellent '80s action film cheese), but I'm not sure why there aren't any extra features on the BD version. It's a Blu-ray disc, so there should be enough room.

This 1987 Arnold action/ sci if classic was written by Steven King and focuses on a depressing future in which the economy is terrible, a police state is enforced and in order to avoid social unrest the government creates a popular sport in which prisoners battle modern day gladiators to the death on television. Sound familiar? This movie is essentially the original Hunger Games minus the child characters and boring subplots. That said, this movie is a very entertaining and well made action flick with Arnold in his prime doing what he does best. The overall look gives this film an Escape From New York quality as well.

Had DVD set which had two discs. I liked this blu ray, watch the whole movie at one go.

We are now, basically, living out this film. Welcome to the dystopian future.

Excelente sin subtítulos en español

Sobre el envío: Sin problemas, aunque ya es la tercera vez que pido algo y lo envían el sábado a pesar de que mi dirección está registrada como comercial (lo cual supuestamente hace que te intenten entregar entre semana), pero no hubo problema. Sobre el producto: Es una película desarrollada en un futuro utópico, donde el gobierno gobierna con mano de hierro, transgiversando la información y donde el programa más popular es un reality show donde personas juzgadas compiten por sobrevivir. Advertencia; LA PELÍCULA NO VIENE CON SUBTITULOS, afortunadamente lo más complicado es entender a Arnold, el cual resalta por sus escenas de acción, mala actuación y sus one-liners incríbles. Esta película para ser de los ochentas se ve increíblemente bien (la reedición hizo que no pareciera una película vieja) y el soundtrack se escucha genial. Esta película no es una obra maestra pero entretiene muchísimo. A mi parecer es una de las mejores películas de Arnold, y si disfrutan de la acción ochentera y no tienen problemas con el idioma, este blue-ray debe estar en su colección.

The Running Man is one of my favourite movies. This version of the Blu-Ray is good quality and arrived within a reasonable amount of time. That being said I have a couple of issues with the blu-ray itself. The 1st issue is not a big one but I ordered 2 copies and 1 of the copies had the disc loose inside the case, but the case had no damage or anything. The 2nd issue I have is that there is no subtitles which makes it hard for someone who needs or wants subtitles. However, if subtitles aren't important to you, then this version of the blu-ray is still worth getting

A riveting thespian masterpiece of a film. Arnold's performance is of such great quality that it has been known to make bears weep in the quiet jungles of Micronesia. He is nearly upstage by the great renowned RADA and theatre actor, Sir Jesse Ventura. These two impactful and mesmerizing performances shake the very foundations of previous performances set by the likes of Daniel Day Lewis and Sidney Poitier. No where else will you hear emotionally driven monologues of the ilk of Shakespeare and David Mehmet. Such wording and sentences like " You cold-blooded bastard! I'll tell you what I think of it: I live to see you eat that contract, but I hope you leave enough room for my fist because I'm going to ram it into your stomach and break your god-damn spine!" will echo in history in comparisons to lesser Oscar nominated masterpieces.

Although I ordered this version of the blu ray what arrived was the German import instead. At first I was ffs but all was not as bad as it seemed the sleeve says it's 96min runtime but in fact it's 101mins yes that's the full cut that us region B viewers have always had. I compared the running times of the blu ray to my dvd version and the dvd is the same. Also it states dts 2.0 when it's dts5.1 and the quality of the sound is superb through my speaker system and as for the picture transfer for a film of this age it's excellent a really good job done
