While the game has a few surprising moments I wouldn't call it overly scary. The combat is as we've come to know with most 3rd person shooters these days, it can however feel a bit clunky. The characters are interesting at best and annoying at worst. However Carnby is easily the best character. All in all it is a fun experience. Just wish it were a little longer. Of possibility of something else to come later for this title.

Alone in the dark is a fantastic game to play if you enjoy a deep story and debating the meaning of what is going on. I played it with my fiance and we constantly debated what we thought was going on as we investigated. The actual combat was ok and resulted in point and shoot no skill or targeting of enemy weak points like resident evil or dead space. The puzzles were fun and challenging in parts and would love it if they released a sequel and built on this solid first game and turned it into a franchise. Would recommend to anyone.

Definition of a £20 game. Enjoyable enough, but a mixed experience. It’s not as much of a RE game as made out, puzzles are weirdly a combination of obtuse but stupidly easy. Combat is kinda okay, but middling. Story kind of doesn’t explain a lot and ends suddenly, like it’s missing a final story beat

Just finished alone in the dark I am impressed with the story and graphics and I don't see any thing wrong withe it no glitches in sight so if their was a problem with the game I did not get it I give this game a five star hope they do a second game

Just finished it today, the Carnby campaign anyway, and it's worth every penny. Highly recommended if you're looking to wipe away the trauma caused by the abominable Uwe Boll film once and for all.

Finalmente un Alone in the Dark che rende onore al nome leggendario della saga! Questo reboot è riuscito a riportare in vita l'atmosfera inquietante e surreale che ha reso iconico l’originale, aggiornandola con una grafica moderna, un gameplay rifinito e una narrazione che tiene incollati fino alla fine. L'ambientazione è semplicemente perfetta: la villa Derceto è un personaggio a sé, viva, minacciosa, piena di segreti. La direzione artistica mescola noir, horror classico e accenni di Lovecraft, creando un mondo disturbante ma irresistibile. Il comparto sonoro è da brividi – consiglio le cuffie per un'esperienza completa! Il gameplay è ben bilanciato: esplorazione, enigmi, combattimento e tensione si alternano senza stonature. Le meccaniche sono moderne, ma senza snaturare l’anima “vecchia scuola” del gioco. I due protagonisti, Edward e Emily, hanno storie che si intrecciano e offrono un’ottima rigiocabilità, con dialoghi e scene differenti. La recitazione è sorprendentemente buona per un survival horror, grazie anche al cast di livello. La trama è misteriosa, densa, con momenti davvero disturbanti (nel senso giusto). In sintesi: Alone in the Dark è un horror raffinato, atmosferico, e costruito con rispetto per i fan della serie ma anche accessibile ai nuovi giocatori. Un titolo che dimostra come si può rinnovare un classico senza perdere l’anima. Assolutamente consigliato per chi ama l’orrore intelligente.
