We bought this as a birthday present for my 101, near blind mother in law. This talking bible has been a huge hit with her. She is able to use it without any trouble. The voice reading the Bible is pleasant and easy to understand. Seems to be durable after 6 months of daily use. Highly recommend.

Very good quality wish it had a plug-in that came with it, and that ran only by batteries

Purchased for a family friend who is losing her eyesight and can no longer see well enough to read a large print bible. She used to read the bible daily so she was devastated to lose the ability to do this. I wasn't sure if she would like this recorded version of the bible. She already owned a set of tapes but she disliked them because their recorded text was incorrect. I showed her how to work this bible the day she received it. I had put batteries in it before wrapping it. She was in tears later that night. She said it was the best gift she had ever received. She listens to it every night. She hasn't said anything about the text being wrong or that she dislikes the voice reading it. The buttons are easy for her to see. There are no codes to enter to get to a certain chapter. She just has to scroll through them by pushing the up or down arrow-shaped buttons. I couldn't be happier with this product. I strongly recommend this item for anyone who is unable to read a printed bible. Our friend is in her 80's and she has had no problem operating the controls. She likes the fact that it is portable and operates on batteries than a charger.

My mother’s eyesight has gotten much worse this year and I found her crying one day because she couldn’t see to read her Bible. She had a large print Bible but it is still pretty small when it’s a Bible. I got her extra large and it still wasn’t big enough. I got her a GIANT print Bible which she could read but it was the Bible in 3 volumes and was kind of bulky. This little Bible works like a transistor radio. You switch it on and control the volume with the same dial. There is a button to advance between chapters but not verses. There is a switch to change between new and Old Testament. It’s a small device, easy to hold in the hand. My mother loves it and can “read” her Bible with ease now any time she wants. Soooo happy with this purchase! Narrator is male and has a nice, soothing voice.

The product is as described in the listing. It's easy to operate, lightweight, and portable. The sound is clear and the volume can be sufficiently increased without distortion. The reading voice is easy to understand. Note - unlike some other talking Bibles, there is no digital display to see what book or chapter you are in. However, the book and chapter navigation buttons are simple to use allowing you to jump from book to book or chapter to chapter. Also, the chapter buttons, when pressed and held, allow you to fast-forward in the current chapter. Very pleased with this talking Bible (I've owned others) and would buy again.

Bought this for my mother, she loves it. Good price

It works but for the price I am disappointed in it's quality. It has a cheap plastic feel. I wouldn't want to accidentally drop one of these because it would most likely break. Also took 3 weeks to get delivered. For the price I would go another route next time. I hope it works well enough for who I bought it for.
