Great book for beginners. Comes with patterns which are simple to follow. I’ve made 4 of the box tops and a box dress and pleased with all of them.

I had never made an item of clothing in my life. I wanted to, bought a pattern but it was so confusing and daunting so I put it away. Bought a book and it started to talk to me about bias binding and facings and zips as if I already knew what all that was, bought two more books that did the same thing. Then I came across this book, it became my bible. I love how it is written, there are no assumptions, there are no sudden jumps that go from 'Do this simple thing' to 'Now do this incredibly hard thing' There are none of those confusing leaps from step by step pics to a nearly finished piece with little explanation on how that happened. I was a newbie, not a clue, within three days I had measured myself, traced a pattern and sewn myself a top. I'm sure others could do it in a day but I wanted to take my time and really understand. Thanks to this book, within a couple of months I am tackling all sorts of mainstream patterns because the foundations this book gave me are that good. I've made men's and women's shirts, tops, dresses, dusters and want to try more things because this book showed me how to start at the very beginning

I love this book! I’ve already made a dress, a cardigan and several tops. I’ve also successfully hacked patterns and made myself a wrap too from the original box top pattern. The clothes are simple but stylish. Who needs expensive Toast when you can make similar style clothes easily from any fabric you choose! I have also learnt a few new things. All the instructions are so clear it’s hard to get it wrong and everything works. Only love and praise for the authors.

Alle wichtigen Basics sind in diesem wundervoll gestalteten Buch aufgeführt und sehr gut anhand von Fotos erklärt. Wenn man mit einem Problem beim Nähen konfrontiert wird, findet man hier Hilfe, es gibt Erklärungen zum Versäumen, zum Einnähen von Reisverschlüssen und auch eine Einleitung über Stoffe, Garne und auch Hilfe beim Lesen der Schnittmuster, die beiliegen. Die vorgestellten Modelle haben meinen persönlichen Stil getroffen, es sind einfache Schnittmuster, die man gut variieren kann. Ich freue mich, dieses Buch unter dieser wahren Flut von Büchern auf dem Markt gefunden zu haben. Das Buch richtet sich nach meinem Begriff an begeisterte Nähanfänger. Very well explained and perfect for beginners. I'm giving it 4 stars because there are quite a few pouches and purses in there. They're rather small and basic which, again, is good for beginners but also awfully simple. Honestly it felt like a waste of space in an otherwise great book. Other patterns like skirts or dresses would have been far more useful I think.

El contenido del libro está increíble, amé los patrones, las explicaciones y las fotos. Solamente error de Amazon, seguramente que el libro llegó súper golpeado de una esquina. No afecta su funcionamiento, pero es un producto dañado.
