Review: Engaging drama - My partner and I have just got Netflix (I know, we are very late to the party) and this is one of the first series that I have binge watched. Years ago, I read the book, "You" by Caroline Kepnes, which this series is based on. I seem to remember liking it, especially appreciating how Kepnes was able to make a creepy, murderous stalker also come across as charming. So I was intrigued to see if the series also managed to pull this off. Joe works in a bookstore. Seemingly, he is a normal young man. Then one day, a woman called Beck visits his store. He is attracted to her, but his crush quickly turns into obsession. He goes out of his way to find out more about her, and to ingratiate himself into her life. Throughout the series, we have the benefit of hearing Joe's inner monologue, so really getting to hear how his mind works. And, true to the book, he does end up coming across as a charming, likeable person. So when he starts doing really unlikeable things, it does feel slightly jarring. As with many drama series, you do have to suspend your disbelief to a certain extent. But having said that, there was enough about the characters and the plot to keep me coming back, so much so that I started the second series straight after finishing the first. Review: Yes yes yes yes yes please. - A good series to watch if you liked ‘Dexter’ there’s less gore but it has a similar inner monologue of the main character going on. It’s dark but not overly so…. More ‘creepy’ and with a strangely lovable psychotic main character lol

When I first heard about this show my brother-in-law contact my husband and told him about a new show that was on Netflix it was titled you. at first I didn't really know what the show was about so my husband decided to purchase the film and give it a try based on my brother was opinion on it they raved about the film saying that it was a great film and that you should check it out when my husband asked what was the show about you said think of this show as like Dexter trying to find love but has sex and violence along the way so coarse what does my husband do purchase the show and decides to give it a shot. My husband made me watch the show and at first I was a little skeptical about it because it did start up very slow but once he went to sleep because he does work and I decided to let the display and watch the show I read to my husband about the show and how good it really is let me explain this show is about a store manager who runs a bookstore named Joe Goldberg Joe is a handsome intelligent very knowledgeable person who has one thing missing in his life that is love so one day this beautiful woman comes into his life name Beck.I don't want to give too much away about the story but I will say this this is a story about how a man falls in love with a woman and will do anything and I need anything to try get this woman to love him and what are some of the ways that he does that well first of all he stalks her he steals her underwear he steals personal items to get close to her searches through her social media like Facebook Twitter Instagram and of course my favorite Google to get all the information he can about the girls so he can get an understanding as to what this woman that he's falling in love with his all about does it sound creepy so far yes it does and it gets worse once he starts to get to know her and things really get out of hand. now you probably telling you so then why is this show so good it just sounds kind of simple the reason why it's so good as for a couple of reasons one the show is very addicting because you want to know what exactly is going to happen in this relationship that is very bizarre between the two lovers that is Joe and Beck. another reason why you'll love this show is that the performances are phenomenal every performance on this show is non-stop amazing to watch especially by the pivotal characters played by Joe and Beck there looks like be extremely attracted to a lot of people but beyond that they're acting is phenomenal and I mean that because not a lot of people can pull a show-off like this and they do a very good job and doing this so you will definitely love the acting in this show as well. Now the real reason why I personally love the show is that the film has lots of sex and violence now let me explain what that means this show is a romance show so you will see a lot of sex in this show in terms of violence you will see a lot of violet moment but not in the serial killing type of violence where he kills random people it's more your understand as you watch where he's killing people that interfere with his love life to get with Beck. so if you're expecting him to kill random people like Patrick Bateman does an American cycle or go after serial killers like Dexter did then this is not the show for you but it is a very violent show and it does show you the creepy side of what happens when you are so obsessed with someone and that obsession becomes paranoia and disillusion and more importantly ends up to be murder and when you're finished watching the show you'll have to ask you something most important question how far would you go for love and more importantly is Joe a victim or a psychotic nut Job and when I say victim you'll see what I mean when you watch the show I can't judge the show for you because you have to see it for yourself and I know that some people are very sappy about those romance type shows but this show is really addicted because it makes you want to see more as two whether or not Joe actually finds love in this life or does he end up getting caught for the crimes that he's committing because of love. Joe is a very complex character as well as Beck but you will love these two.I also feel that the show is very relatable not in the murders that are happening in the show butt some of the relationships that happened in the show are very realistic like there's one scene in one of the episodes where Joe and Beck have an argument about trust and we can all relate to that because we all know what it's like to have arguments when you're in a relationship believe me relationships are not easy and it shows you in the show that it's not easy it's very very complex but the problem that people don't understand is is that with love you would do anything to achieve it. But it's very hard to understand it you see that's the problem when people fall in love we want to make someone happy and we would do anything to make them happy but sometimes love doesn't always have those easy questions to answer love is basically trial in there sometimes you get it right sometimes you get it wrong when you get it wrong you have to let it go and try it again and if you get it right he keep the person and treat them right for the rest of their lives and never ever let them go and always love them with all your heart and soul and remember never take advantage of a good thing. I get this showing a plus this is probably one of the best shows I've seen in a long time and I really hope that Amazon people and eBay people or whoever is into the love of romance who loves a good thriller who loves books and most of all loves a good quality show because it's been a great I'm watching this show from all aspects but the most important thing that people have to understand about the show is it's a learning lesson about how far love can take us and where the boundary lines meet.

I won't dissect this show 10 ways from Sunday; except to say You need to watch this. Thoroughly enjoyed it & am looking forward to season 2. My only complaint is it's not on blu ray but I will take what I can get. Cast did a great job & the writing was excellent. Definitely not something for the kiddies to watch though.

LOVE this show. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and it’s so easily binged. Joe is a complete nut, he thinks the things he does for “love” are justified, plus the commentary is spot on. Cracks me up every time. I recommend this show!

This season of YOU has been touted as a "romantic thriller". I would hardly call it that. My first reaction when I started to watch YOU and perceived its direction was to think of the 1965 film THE COLLECTOR with Terrence Stamp and Samantha Eggar (see IMDb). A youthful male in the form of Penn Badgley (Gossip Girl, Easy A) is a bookstore manager. As such he is able to encounter an attractive aspiring female writer (Elizabeth Lail) who has entered his store in search of a particular book. She finds him to be both quite knowledgeable and attractive. He develops an instant crush on her. Unfortunately, his feelings lead him onto a deadly path. His "crush" quickly becomes an obsession as he continuously plots the various ways that he can come in contact and engage her. He is brilliant in his plotting and quickly turns into a stalking predator though he doesn't see himself that way. In any event, we are now forced to be a witness to his ever unfolding possessiveness. He must have her and nothing will stand in his way. Are his actions normal - NO; are his feelings normal - NO. Yet he claims to love his newfound love interest with all his being. However, his mental state reflects his real self and what is actually a decent into madness of sorts. At last, the girl that he wants finds him to be not what she thought. He becomes more repellent than attractive. But he will not be stopped even though EL wants nothing more to do with him. What PB thinks is love is nothing more than extreme possessive desire. She is his and no one else's. What evolves is a kind of cat and mouse game between the two of them which leads to an inevitable...[No Spoilers Here]. The epilogue to all of this clearly reveals that PB's feelings and behavior are neither romantic nor true love - and never were.
