This is an excellent tool and works exactly as needed. My husband uses it to keep his hand tools within reach while he works, and it has made a big difference. No more searching for the tool he just set down. It stays securely attached and ready to use. The tether is strong and smooth, allowing him to use the tool freely and then let it retract right back to his hip. Simple, sturdy, and very convenient.

I would rate higher but the lock is hard to put on and off and it's quite loud. It is very secure though. The cord retracts very well and that part is quiet if you let it down slowly.

Awesome retractable! I have used it for holding my insta360 scuba diving, as well as used it for securing my phone paramotoring. The retractable is long enough to get good video. The clip on it is solid and sturdy. I will be buying more in the long run

I like this product. The body of it feels sturdy. I haven't really stress-tested it but it sure doesn't seem fragile. I like that it offers multiple attachment styles and that the part with the tether loop is modular with other Boomerang Tool Company products. Where it looks a star for me is that the switch to toggle the retraction lock doesn't feel well-made. Sometimes it gets a bit stuck and doesn't have enough play to do more than be wiggled back and forth, which still technically mostly allows operation, it just makes it more of a guessing game if I've moved it enough to lock it into place. Similarly, if I wear it on my hip and bump into a physical obstacle, it's often enough to jar the lock loose and cause the cord to retract suddenly. These are not huge hindrances in the environments in which I operate, but they seem like poor faults for something intended for rugged outdoors use.

If you kayak you know that anything that's not attached will eventually be lost. These tethers are a great way to keep your pliers, boga, clippers, radio, phone, etc. The only drawback is the size of the reel. It's a little larger than I would prefer. That said, it's sturdy and everything is secure and easy to clip to my Hobie Outback. I fish in salt water and periodically spray a little WD40 inside and outside on these to keep salt water from affecting small parts. Haven't had any problems with them. Good product.

Made using a rangefinder more simplified to use when this is connected

Bought to attach to my rangefinder for bowhunting. Unit is way too noisy for that. Works okay, just not quiet enough to use in the woods.

It's a little bigger than I expected but, it attaches to my rangefinder and, supports its weight perfectly.

Useful and resistant
