Algorithms Illuminated: Omnibus Edition

An excellent book. It explains the why of the algorithms. Some algorithms have pseudocode, some don't. I bought the omnibus edition which seems necessary to get a complete picture of the algorithms out there. I would not recommend buying just one of the set of books. Highly recommended.

Good book, but arrived damaged :(

This is Parts 1-4 of a 4-part beautifully written textbook on Algorithms, suitable for someone who has already learned the basics of Data Structures. I taught out of this book (got thru most of Part 4) and can't sing its praises enough. The writing is engaging, the examples seem to flow seamlessly (obviously the result of a lot of thought on the part of the author) and the proofs of correctness are at just the right level. There are related videos on youtube, and about half my students went back and forth between the book and the videos. I have taught the Algorithms course out of several of the other popular books but this book has the others beat hands down for clarity, motivation, and explanation of correctness. If you tend to discuss sections of a book in class, you might prefer the 4-part kindle version.

The explanations of algorithms within these pages are nothing short of brilliant. The clarity and depth of understanding I gained from this read are invaluable. Highly recommend to anyone looking to demystify algorithms and enhance their comprehension.

Has all the things you need to know about algorithms, go for it

and I have read a lot of textbooks. This brings you from 0 to 100 in the practical science of algorithms while illuminating the deeper beauty of algorithm design and what it tells us about the nature of reality. This book is a masterpiece.
