24K Gold Plating Solution, 24K Electroplating Solution, Immersion Plating Gold Solution, 4oz

I hand stamp and market 999FS cuff style bracelets as a side business. Recently, I decided to experiment with gold plating. So my first endeavors utilized the brush on method and I was pleased with the outcome. Looking further into the plating process led me to try the immersion process. The Becker Industries 24K gold immersion solution was a game changer. The process worked perfectly with no issues. Plating was quick (approximately 26 seconds @ 7.5VDC) uniform and brilliant. I started with a high polish on the silver cuffs which were then degreased, further cleaned with Dawn and further electro cleaned, dipped in distilled water prior to plating. The first two plated bracelets can be seen in the pic. The bracelets shown are roughly 9 square inches of surface area each (front/back/edges) and I’ve plated 3 so far. I’ll follow up when I determine about how many square inches that a 4oz container will actually plate. Overall, I am quite pleased, would recommend this product to others. I used this plating liquid to re-layer gold on parts of a 1981 guitar. My plating system was 16 volts, self made. The agent at that voltage reacted QUICKLY, not giving much time to move the parts around. This caused a deep layering that did not look bad at all. In fact, it made the parts look darker than the original coatings. A more "Royal" appearence. However, I reduced the voltage to 9, which gave me the same appearence but took a little longer as I wanted. Some of the parts, were large. Example, the Kahlar tremelo assembly. Use a large glass bowl and increased voltage to get a even coating at a decent amount of time (20 minutes). THE FINISH DOES NOT RUD OFF, it is a real gold coating that in my opinion looks just as good as the "professionals" with durable reflections like a mirror. To that, I believe there is good value for the money and highly recommend it. Be sure to clean your pieces BEFORE usage so that the electroplating is even and clear.

This stuff is garbage. It plates this muddy looking copper looking crap that falls off when you dip it in the rinse tank. I checked out "becker industries" website, it looks like it was made in the 90's and has zero information about any of the products they sell.

I de-greased a quarter, clipped it to my cathode. Hooked up my anode, and dropped it all in. I turned my power supply to 5 volts, because I read low voltage gets better results. After a few minutes it was plated with gold. I've done a bunch of these quarters and they look amazing. My cathode alligator clip looks gangster; it will have low conductivity during all future experiments due to its hefty layer of gold. I took a chance and bought it; it works. There seems to be plenty of it for hobby purposes. I have a few small items in mind and I will have plenty to use on random items whenever the whim arises. If you want to gold plate your bathroom hardware; this is plenty.

I couldn't get it to plate the piece I was working on when in used a plating pen, It did work verry well when I used it as a plating dip however.
